We met with Ron at the home we recently purchased to go over some remodeling projects we are thinking about having done, including finishing the basement, converting the loft to a bedroom, redoing some lighting in the kitchen and various painting throughout the house. After our meeting, he told us in subsequent emails that we could expect an estimate two and a half weeks after our meeting with him. After that time had passed and we still had not received an estimate (even after explaining to him during our meeting that we wanted to start the renovations ASAP since we were waiting to move in until after the renovations were completed), we contacted Ron and were sent an estimate later that evening. Despite agreeing to provide us with an estimate breaking out each of the remodeling projects we discussed during our meeting, he only provided an estimate for the basement work and said that he would provide estimates for the additional work once we decided to go with his company. How can you expect someone to make such a significant investment as picking a general contractor if you do not provide the entire estimate up front? Furthermore, we had previously asked Ron to provide us with some references since there were not many reviews of his company available online and he responded that he would provide references only after we decided to go with his company. We decided to go with another general contractor who is more upfront about pricing and other pertinent information and does not withhold that information until you decide to go with the company. Very unprofessional. Don't bother wasting your time with this company, choose another company who is more transparent and honest upfront.
