I was troubled by the fact that he tacks on a $97 service charge to every visit. As he explained, "Sears home repair does it, so I do too.". Keep in mind that this was not an emergency repair job, and we had scheduled him to do the repairs 3 days prior. So, if you want to arbitrarily pay him +$97 dollars just to enjoy his company, then I suggest that you hire him. Otherwise, if you are looking for competitive service, I suggest you use a different service.
