Modern Re-Bath of Lake Villa IL is absolutely The WORST contractors I have ever dealt with. We wanted our second-floor hallway bathroom remodeled. DO NOT take the salesperson Matt Giovenco for his word AT ALL. Everything he tells you during the sales pitch is a lie. It’s all about the junk he scratches onto the sales contract. Everything we asked about; removing a mirror, fixtures and repairing the small holes in the dry wall from the removed fixtures was “yes sir” “yes sir” “yes sir”. He also said there would be NO need for a building inspector permit since we are not adding any electrical outlets. I also asked for a detailed price list of the items we ordered. Matt said that he would e-mail it to me. I never received it. Two weeks later my wife got a call from Stephanie from their office and she informs my wife that the chicken scratch “contract” does not include removing the mirror or drywall repairs from the removed fixtures. A week before the work was to be completed, we get an e-mail telling us we owe an additional $68.00 for the work permit that MATT said that we did not need. ALL LIES!!!!! The work was supposed to start in 10 weeks. They called us that the material did not arrive on time, so the installation was delayed by about 3 weeks. When the contractors installed the new vanity top, faucets, fixtures, bathtub and paneling, I believe this was the VERY FIRST bathroom this contractor and plumber ever installed. They did Not have a clue on what they were doing. Both my sinks drains were leaking, the faucets were loose, the contractor cut through the drywall into the adjoining bedroom in two places. The worst part was three days later after we started using the bathtub and shower, water leaks started showing up in our ceiling under the bathroom. My wife and I both inspected the paneling and bathtub and had to re caulk the WHOLE bathtub and tiles. Even after they came back three times to fix things. Some guys came back to repair the original work but ending up causing even more damage to my home. They cut a hole in the ceiling under the bathtub to check for leaks and then refused to repair the drywall because “THEY” claim the bathtub drain was not the problem. The next day my wife and I re caulked the whole bathtub and tub surround paneling they installed, and the leaks stopped. After paying Modern Re-bath $10,000 to have our bathroom remodeled, me wife and had to put in more than $3,500 from our own time and cost of repairs. Not including having to write these reviews and complaints to save anyone else from the stress, headaches and sleepless nights, dealing with an unequivocally worst unprofessional contractor I have ever had! You would think your hiring professionals, but NO WAY these guys are professionals!
