A Dan's Appliance

I read all the glowing reviews on this company.  I must've caught this man on a bad day.  He walked in with an attitude.  Didn't bother to introduce himself.  Chastised (literally chastised) me for taking my dryer apart wrong.  When I asked him what I did wrong when attempting to install the belt, he told me "obviously you don't know what your doing."  Took him less than two minutes to fix, yet wouldn't show me where my mistake was. 
He was supposed to install a dishwasher also.  Told me because I was going from a Kitchenaid to a Bosch I needed all new connectors.  He'd have to "write up an estimate."  I spoke with Sears and they said there shouldn't be any major differences in switching out dishwashers.  After telling him I bought it at Sears Outlet he absolutely refused to go any farther. 
I understand if he had a bad taste for Sears Outlet, but to literally talk down to me - totally uncalled for.  I am a business woman who owns a machine shop.  I understand the workings of machinery.
  If you don't mind being treated as if your stupid, this is the man to call.  He may do good work (that I honestly don't know) , but I will never hire him again.

The dryer wasn't hot and the washer only worked on one setting. We called Dan's shop and made an appointment. He showed up as scheduled and his office called to let us know he was on his way. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the washer and dryer. He had the part for the dryer and repaired it the same day. The washer needed a part he didn't have so he ordered the part and returned 4 days later and fixed the washer. This is the third time we've had Dan out to repair appliances in our house and he always shows when he says he will and solves the problem. I feel he charges a fair price and never feel like I got ripped off. I hope our appliances don't break down anymore but if they do I'll surely call Dan.

Dan has done work for us before and is always on time and does good, honest work. Our dryer is over 15 years old and it stopped heating. He came out and replaced a heater coil and it works great. He is our "go-to" guy for appliances.

Due to the water leaking out onto the floor, Dan was able to come out on Monday 9/15 and get the water flow stopped. He returned on 9/18 with the repaired ice maker and installed it. Also installed a new valve on the water line as the old one would not shut off which was part of the problem.

His office was very responsive with calling me to let me know exactly when he would be at the house and helpful in getting him to rearrange things to come and stop the water leaking.

Dan was punctual and quick to get there (I called a little after 9:00 in the morning, he came right after lunch). We were pretty sure it was the ignitor, and it turns out it was. He worked very quickly, immediately diagnosing the problem and getting us set up with a new one. All-in-all, I would say the visit lasted about 45 minutes from beginning to end. Dan also gave us a 90 day warranty on the part, which was great.
I currently have a dryer in which I believe the heating element is going out, and I plan on giving Dan a call in the next week or two to see if he can save it, as well, so yes, I would recommend him again!

My experience with them was good.

At 7am on THANKSGIVING MORNING, my wife discovered that the oven would not light. I checked and we were looking at options to cook a 19lb turkey, 3 pies and numerous other items for guests that day. I called A Dans number and left a message at 7:05am and he returned my call at 7:15. He told me that he was leaving for Wisconsin with family, but would come by my house right away.at 7:30am he arrived with his truck and quickly identified the problem was a bad ingniter(the thing that lights the stove) and had the part with him. He had the stove repaired and was out the door in fifteen minutes.He has come to our house before and repaired our Dryer and, in one case, pointed out a dangerous situation of a clogged air vent and did not charge us anything but gave a good recommendation (for an Angies list favorite) to clean our duct to the dryer.He is honest and is an expert and appliances over ten years old. I am sure he can fix newer models but our new model appliances are both under warranty for a few more years. He was quick, clean and efficient. And a lifesaver on a holiday.
