Garrelts & Son's Plumbing & Heating Cooling

At my home inside for less than 10 minutes. Said there was nothing he could do except insulation of pipes (gave me a quote of $2k when my husband did it for about $100). When I said I didn't agree to $125 service visit charge he said talk to my boss so I waited 10 more minutes to talk to some guy who yelled about insurance cost on the repair truck. I never signed anything saying they could charge me. They just charged my credit card (which I had to give them to get them to come out) about a month later. Even when the technician said "there is really nothing I can do". Scammers! Don't even call them

$285 for half hour work to replace a $20 part.

. On February 28th 2015 our sump pump in our basement went out. We had a warranty through Garrelts & Sons Plumbing. It was a seven year warranty that my wife purchased in August 2008, when Garrelts put in the sump pump. We proceeded to call Garrelts approximately 6 times on Saturday February 28th, because they have a 24 hour emergency service number. They did not call us back over the weekend. I was fortunate to know a plumber who replaced the sump pump with a new pump. I called Garrelts after this and sill have not been able to get anyone from the company to even call us back. 
I recently saw their truck at my neighbors and went over and talked to a young service repairman and showed him the warranty receipt. He took pictures with his cell phone and wrote down our name and address. I even told him that while his truck was next door that I called the phone numbers on his truck and no one would pick up. I would highly advise anyone that chooses to use this company for plumbing to be advised as to what they are getting themselves into and I wish you the best of luck, because you will need it along with a robust check book!

Please do not use this firm. I called them to fix a Hot Water heater, they specifically informed me they could fix the brand I had. After several attempts and days without hot water that included ordering the wrong parts, we had to call a different firm (Black Diamond, who did an awesome job - FYI) to repair the damage Garrelts and Son's did. The really unfortunate thing is that we need to replace a three year old water heater because Garrelts had cut the wires on a harness that made it impossible to repair. After making many phone calls and leaving messages for the owner, Garrelts and Son's is refusing to pay anything towards the repairs to the equipment they damaged.

I never write bad reviews, please be aware you should not trust this firm.

The guy that did it was wonderful.  I was very impress with him.  Whenever I've needed something or had a friend that needed something, I've recommended them and they've been happy too.  Their price is probably a little high, but I do get the professionalism with them.  Even if I choose not to buy exactly what they are recommending, they are fine with that.  I had them do some sump pump work and their sump pump was high and I said that I would rather go out and get my own because I know a good brand and lifetime warranty and stuff, they were fine with that.  They still cleaned up the area because I couldn't get into the area where the sump pump was.  They cleaned the lit-up and put piping in so that I could easily install it myself.
