Burnside Painting

We had John Rossate, from Burnside Painting (Lake in the Hills, IL) paint almost our entire house based on the recommendation of our neighbor. Our neighbor is a relative of Mr. Rossate and also painted a room in their house. We thought we would save a couple of hundred dollars by using John Rossate rather than our normal painter. He was HORRIBLE! First, he said it would take about 2 weeks. He was going to paint our main level, including the ceiling (living room, family room, dining room, and kitchen) and then 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. We moved large furniture for him, even though he said we didn't have to, to help him out and to help save him time. He only worked for a couple of hours each time he was at our house. Some days he would not show up and we wouldn't hear from him at all. He always showed up late (after 9 or 10 or 11 am) and left before 2 or 3 pm. He did not cover ANY furniture or floor!!! So we have paint splatter ALL over our hardwood floor, our kitchen cabinets, kitchen appliances, our kitchen table, & bedroom furniture. He was also VERY messy and left dry wall dust everywhere, hence the reason we did not notice the paint splatter on the floors or furniture right away. He took over 3 weeks to complete the main level that we stopped him from painting the bedrooms. When we realized, after a thorough cleaning, that he left paint splatter all over our home, we called him. He kept saying he would come and clean it up, no problem. He would not show up. Finally, several months later in an email, he said he would come over after New Year's. He never showed and never returned phone calls. He was extremely unprofessional during the painting time and after the work. He stated that he guaranteed his work for a year when he paints such a large amount of the home, so if we noticed nail pops, he would come back and fix them. Good luck trying to get a hold of John Rossate, from Burnside Painting. The company name is appropriate, he will leave you Burned!!! Do NOT use this man. He worked very short hours, did not care to cover anything, and did not return phone calls. We should have used the normal painter and spent extra money because now I am left with paint splatter all over my home! STEER CLEAR from Burnside Painting and John Rossate. He may seem like a nice guy, but use him only if you want the job to take 3 times as long, your home to be a mess, paint splatter everywhere, and then he still doesn't complete the job. a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS!
