This vendor's response was extremely helpful in determining the correct product needed by the company that purchased Heartland. Koolmaster's staff went out of their way to call the new vendor and worked diligently and followed-up on details. End result is the product was determined, sourced, delivered without much effort aside of few calls.

The installation went well and as promised. They were paid in full promptly at the completion of the installation. After approximately five years the seals on the thermal panes of glass began to fail. The failure includes seal leakage resulting in a fogging of the glass. Koolmaster replaced about 4 window sections until 2007. When we called about more failures we were informed that the window had a 10 year warranty and it had expired. After much haggling and badgering the most I could get was Koolmaster agreeing to replace them at cost. At that point in time I refused. The windows are slowly failing and by all appearances they will continue to fail. I could not see sending good money after bad at that point. There are currently 8 windows with a failed pane of glass. I met with the owner of Koolmaster and conveyed my dissatisfaction over the fact that I had 28 windows replaced that were over 100 years old and the new ones have a life expectancy of less than 10 years. I really feel that I received an inferior product and I just can't accept the fact that I have to share the burden on these windows. I also don't see why I should have to compromise on something that was clearly defective from the beginning. In all fairness I have to state that Koolmaster provided good service until the warranty ran out but, at that point they stopped. I really feel this is their liability and they should have to deal with the manufacturer of the windows (Customshield Wood Replacement Windows, Weathershield Mfg. Medford, Wi ph. 1-800-477-6808) to make this situation whole. When I called the manufacturer of the windows they ignored the complaint and told me to contact their legal department. I have struggled for 4 years trying to figure out how to resolve this. At least I hope this organization can publicize what happened to us and save someone else the headaches we have endured dealing with Koolmaster and Weathershield.
