they did a really nice job, we have a huge driveway and both the driveway and patio look GREAT. Jose explained a lot of things to me and the owner was very responsive. ALL the workers were neat, polite and did a good job. I would recommend them highly
As an attorney, I am a half-decent landscaper :D (though nothing like these guys!). I had put in paver bullets and rock myself when we moved into our home over 15 years ago. With time, they sank and no amount of grass trimming made them stand out like they once had. I had also wanted to extend paver bullets around the sidewalk they put in, but didn't have the time. Finally, I Once again, Pavercare to the rescue!!!
The day work began, I was happy to see Gaspar arrive as I knew the work would be done far and beyond anything I'd get from another provider. He is very easy to work with and takes direction well. I just told him what I was looking for and he went right to it!
Once again, bushes were tied up to prevent damage, weeds were removed, no extra charge... work went as well as expected. Neighbors were actually coming by after they left asking who did the work. I was glad to tell them!
They accidentally damaged a couple of our sprinkler heads in the process. Gaspar was actually able to fix one of them on his own... this guy is very handy! When I let TC know about the other, he told me to have our regular sprinkler guy come out and just take it off the bill! Talk about customer service!
After seeing what they did, I had to have them come out to raise what I had done and expand it. Also, I hadn't got around to getting my mulching done. We have 3/4s of an acre lot with a mulch line that follows our fence. It is usually a 3 day job for me by myself and all I am doing is hauling and spreading mulch. When I mentioned this to TC, he said they could help there as well! They really made my life quite simple.
Again, our comes Gaspar and his crew again. They had the bullets raised and extended with rock added in a couple hours, for what would have taken me 2 days of work. They then started on the mulch... and again, went above the call of duty. They cut in a new mulch line to make the mulch look nicer! Took them coming back from an extra day, but the results are stunning! I couldn't have done it better myself
THE AFTER STORY...
I noticed that they had forgot to do my garden area (they ran out of mulch) and they didn't have enough rock to finish off my upper planter... texted TC on Saturday... on Monday morning they were out and finished everything, including weed removal again, in less than 2 hours...
There is just no other way to say it... use Pavercare... they are the best!!!
TC, one of the owners of Pavercare, came out and surveyed what needed to be done. He was exceptionally friendly and professional and put me at ease that they could get the job done right!
Gaspar and his crew arrived on-time and set to work removing the old bricks. To my amazement, they actually bound our bushes up so they wouldn't be damaged and thinned out dead growth... as I have said in a previous review, they go far and above the norm in their service.
While they were working on my new walkway, another group quickly and expertly fixed my front walkway (installed by another contractor, some bricks had sank badly after only a couple years).
When they were done, the curb appeal of our home had went up... it looked fantastic! Definitely, a job well done and I will used them again for all paver-related projects.
THE AFTER STORY.
After a few days of the sidewalk being in place, you could see that there was a difference in the coloring our Series 3000 pavers from what we had originally and what Pavercare installed. I let TC know and he came out and confirmed. It was clearly an issue with Unilock's coloring. At no additional charge, TC actually got a guy from Unilock to come and look at it. He did some kind of acid wash that removes the haze associated with when they bake the bricks. Sure enough, color matched!
Once again, customer service far beyond anything we have ever experienced with landscaping-related contractors. You should not go anywhere else other than Pavercare!
We have a 1,200 square foot patio of concreate with brick insets. Prior contractors we had used didn't do any better than we had on our own using bleach and our powerwasher.
The gentleman that arrived, Gaspar, was punctual, kind, and professional. Not only did he perform the service but also pulled out weeds along our patio that I hadn't had a chance to get to. Our patio never looked better... he literally made the concrete and brick look new!
Not only did he do the cleaning, but also set our patio back up (we had moved our grill, table, chairs out of his way)! Talk about service above and beyond!
The final touch was that he closed our gate to our backyard when he left... might not seem like much, but you'd be surprised how many contractors just leave and don't bother to close a gate...
The price was literally half of what we had been charged by other so-called concrete professionals.
I will definitely use Pavercare again and again!
I had contacted at least 7 different places and none seemed even interested or bothered to offer an estimate of the job. But pretty much from the get-go, these guys were on it, they sent a guy over for an estimate right away, and even in the middle of the busy time, got it taken care of within a couple weeks.
During one of the storms this summer, a tremendous pine tree that sat between the front walkway and the corner of the house blew over taking with it the walkway, the corner of the stoop, the stairs not to mention a ton of other stuff.
After fixing most everything else I tried to find someone to work on the walkway. And like all the other jobs, I'm continually amazed how when I want to give a company my money, they act like they'll get to it when they get to it.
Paver Care was quick, explained everything, and was patient with all my questions. They sent over 3 hard-working guys exactly at the time they said they would. In literally a half hour they had all the old stones up and were already laying the foundation for the sidewalk. The one gentleman I spoke with seemed to really know what he was talking about and answered all my questions so I let them work.
I came home from my job and found an absolutely beautiful walkway, they fixed the steps and evened out the surface stones on the patio. They filled in the mortar holes and replaced uneven stones in the patio, and they put in a little retaining wall on the far side of the walkway for a little garden area. It was even designed in a nicer way than I had imagined or explained. They basically made the whole thing look better than when we moved in years ago.
My wife and I couldnt be any happier. They charged a very reasonable amount. And I would call them again in a heartbeat.
I made my appointment, and was told TC would be doing the estimate. Instead, another associate arrived to conduct the estimate, but sometimes things change, so we went with it. We liked what Victor explained would happen in the repairs to our patio, so we hired them that day. We were supposed to receive a call at the end of the week for scheduling.
The end of the week arrived, no one called. I called, left a message, and upon a return call was told that we'd be contacted in the next week, because they were more than three weeks out in scheduling.
The next week went by, and no phone call. I called, again, left a message, and upon a return call was told what days we were booked for the repair, cleaning and sealing.
The repair team arrived the day before it was scheduled. I was home, so it didn't really matter to me. I went out and talked to the guys, and made sure they understood what we wanted repaired. We were estimated for the entire edging of our patio, which was about 27 feet. I was told it would take an hour, which seemed strange, as the estimate indicated it would take 3-4 hours. But, I'm no paver professional, so I left them to it. I watched them begin to repair the patio, and it was clear they knew what they were doing. But, after 45 minutes, the crew left. They only repaired about three feet of the patio. And, I discussed with Victor during the estimate that we had a soil erosion issue with the patio, as it's on a slight hill, which caused the sand to vacate from under the patio, leading to the uneven pavers. He told us they'd add a new edging and some rocks to seal the area better. This crew added the same edging that was originally there, and dug up dirt from an area in my front yard where grass was struggling to grow to cover it up (I didn't put together that they took dirt from the front yard until a few days later).
I called TC and left a message, and he returned my call almost immediately. He explained that the person doing the repairs that day was his best, and he'd have the team come right back to my house to do any other repairs that I felt were needed. I was happy with this. I called TC around 9, so I expected the team back shortly. Noon came and went, and they didn't show up, so my husband called and left a message. 5pm came and went, and they still hadn't shown up, and I called and left another message. No one ever called us back.
Then, the cleaning and sealing crew came the next week and finished the job like everything was fine.
A bill arrived in the mail a few days later, of course charging us for a full hour of work, even though the guys were only in the yard for 45 minutes.
While the work the sealing team did is very nice, I still have uneven pavers, which I will have to later repair, and since it's rained a few times since the patio was repaired, I already have soil that has completely eroded from the patio because it wasn't repaired in the way we were told it would be.
I think it's really unprofessional that I would be told one thing on the phone, and when no one shows up, my phone calls and messages are ignored and the remainder of the work continues on like everything is settled and fine.
No one bothered to call and see if we were satisfied with the work; they just sent the bill. I'd call, but I'm assuming that call will be ignored, again.
I'm disappointed. We were looking for a company we could rely on for patio repairs, and clearly we'll have to keep looking.
The first crew came in early June and did a fantastic job. They ended up re laying at least half of the existing pavers on the 16 x 30 patio. Their professionalism was exceptional and they actually did more than I expected. They even removed my patio furniture and replaced it when they were finished. Ten days later Jose returned to power wash. He also removed the furniture for me. He explained that he would be back 2 days later to re-sand and seal. After each job the area was left clean.
I am looking forward to enjoying a weed free patio. My experience was nothing but the best. I would recommend this company to anyone needing paver work.
I have to add that I am not entirely surprised, as I had a smaller job at a rental property of mine in Chicago that TC said he's look at but never did, even after I left him multiple reminders. I have to assume he felt the the job was too small, but could certainly have said so. I am submitting this poor review because I want to share my now repeat experience of being ignored when things get inconvenient.
