Lagrange Hardwood Flooring

Started calling in Sept 2011 to schedule hardwood floor refinishing for three rooms and a hallway.  Calls were answered and messages taken but no calls back.  Finally spoke to Mr Vail in January 2012.  He came as scheduled to give an estimate and a very fair price for the work.  Started calling in third week of January to schedule the work.  After 5 messages left on his cell, he called back.  The date I picked was not available.  It took another 7 messages over two weeks time to get a call back and a new date.  I started calling the week before to ensure we were still on track but his voice mail was full.  On the Monday scheduled, he was a no-show, no call.  He texted me on Tuesday that he would be there on Wednesday.  We had boarded our dogs on Monday and had already picked them up.  Went with another company who called and showed up when promised.

Called vendor for estimate to have floors redone and chose theirs based on owner Bill Vail's experience working on our type of home (Baltis Ranch). His estimate was competitive with other vendors we met with. Work was scheduled and they went to work relatively soon after. Aside from some arm twisting at the end to fix some trim work I wasn't happy with, the whole experience was relatively smooth and hassle free. The performed the work they agreed to and were done within a week's time. However, it's only been six months and my floor has cracked floor board. My wife and myself called their number several times and left messages to schedule someone to come out and inspect. To date, we've not had our calls returned to schedule work. EXCEPT,  on one occassion, the owner, Bill, called and left a message on my wife's phone mistakenly thinking we were calling for a flooring estimate! Needless to say, we are very upset that the owner will not return phone calls to service previous work but is happy to return calls that are for new business. We've finally given up with getting them out to fix their work and have called other vendors. If a vendor is not willing to stand by their work and/or at the very least come out and look at the problem then they are not someone we can recommend.

Contacted owner Bill Vail in August 09. Set up wprk for first week in October. Many phone calls and 1 month later got an estimate and a sample. Picked floor and confirmed Octber date. Very good estimate. One week before installation called to see if wood was in and was informed that it was on back order. I had taken a week off work and had to reschedule. Called again in November and was informed by the manager Jeff Bagdon that ther was no order and he had never heard of my order. I told him I had a written estimate. He came by and remeasured and asked for another chance after many apologies. I set up another date and asked for samples. I never got the samples and the second date has already passed. No one from LaGrange Hardware seems to be interested in installing hardwood floors throughout my house. They will not return my telephone calls. How can you call yourself a professional? I asked several times to please let me know if you do not or cannot lay this floor. This was a total waste of my time and took several months and several chances for this company to prove themselves unprofessional. I cannot reccommend them as I do not think they will ever show up. Do not give them a deposit!
