Gilded Age Furniture Restoration

Not good. I asked them to simply just strip the cabinet but they went ahead and stained it and not very well. The cabinet was painted to begin with. Removal of pre-existing bad veneer was done well, but re-stained (again I didn't ask for it). The veneer was attached and replaced well but looked like someone did a rush job on the stain, not very professional at all. So much chemical stripper was used the original veneer puckered in areas and buckled in others. I think it looked better with the paint on it. I had another job for them to do, but I wouldn't bring anything back to them ever again. Took forever to get the job done as well. Lots of excuses.

Went really well. They look great.

My dining room table was given to me by my mother so it means very much to me. I was very distraught when I realized an electric home fragrance leaked and then ate the finish off in a smallish but noticeable area on the top of the table. I contacted Gilded Age explained what happened and that I only had a short window of time as my mom was coming to visit in about six weeks and there was no way I wanted her to see that. Mike at Gilded Age was very understanding, made an appointment for the next week. He and his assistant came to my home, assured me it could be repaired. He gave me two options but it would depend on what technique he had to use. Mike also suggested getting a piece of glass to keep on the table which would protect it. Wish I had thought of that great idea. They measured the table for it and said it would be ready when the table was. I believe they have someone else do the glass. All in all the whole thing took about two weeks with calls keeping me updated. I am thrilled with how beautiful my table turned out and the glass was a perfect idea. My cost was the lower one which was a nice surprise too.
The gentlemen at Gilded Age are great I would definitely refer friends and family.
