"Before I address [Member name removed] allegations, I want to address some misrepresentations: 1. We were never hired by [Member name removed]. We were hired by the Thornwilde Townhome Association and Hillcrest Management Co., which handles the exterior upkeep for the neighborhood in which she lives. As such, we answered to those entities. We also followed guidelines set by both the City of Warrenville building inspector and by Waldman Engineering Co hired to oversee the project. 2. The dollar amount she gives is an arbitrary amount, because again, she did not hire us, nor did she pay us any money. 3. She did not call us to do the restoration project. Homeowners, including [Member name removed] are to contact Hillcrest Management for any work or repairs that need addressing. 4. Our gutters are installed by our employees, not by subcontractors and they are not leaking. Because of the scope and size of this project, Thornwilde Townhome Association and Hillcrest Management Co. employed Waldman Engineering to oversee the project to ensure that all work was completed in a safe and professional manner. In addition to the above-listed entities, the inspector for the City of Warrenville was involved with numerous mandatory inspections during the course of each scope of work on each building. We completed 11 buildings prior to [Member name removed] building and all were approved by all entities. [Member name removed] had a laundry list of complaints on her unit. The only issue the building inspector, property manager and engineer found viable was her request for color-coordinated flashing on both sides of the raceway at the rear balcony floor. Although it would only be a 5 minute repair that could have been completed from the exterior, she would not allow us access to her balcony when we showed up. Numerous additional attempts were made to schedule the repair, but were always denied. Our last attempt was January 14, 2014 when we were told that it was not a good time as the temperature was expected to drop. Because of the volatile nature of this situation, we contacted Hillcrest Management, Waldman Engineering and the Thornwilde Townhome Association and told them that as we have been unsuccessful in all attempts to appease [Member name removed], we felt it best that another contractor do the small remaining repair and they could back charge us. We never heard anything further, so assumed that she had decided not to move forward with the repair."
