I had the pleasure of working with Marian and Andy and I must say I’m pleasantly pleased! I was referred to Marian as he has done several projects in my condo building! I set up and appointment for quotes and he submitted proposals with prices and we accepted the offer! He told us what to expect from day one including pricing, materials and time lines! Marian was very instrumental in picking up materials and helping me pick the best quality materials! Marian and Andy were friendly, professional and just all around great guys! The finish outcome was more amazing than what I could have imagined! I would recommend first chicago remodel to anyone looking for professional, top notch service! We’ve adopted Marian into our family and cannot wait to work with him again on future projects!

Marian and Andy were really great to work with. I would highly recommend them to others. To start the thing I appreciate the most is even after they finished the bathroom Marian as come back twice (the second time 2 months after) to check on a leak happening in the sink. The fact that he still responds and came over to take a look at it is amazing. Marian was also great to communicate with throughout the entire process. He was very responsive to questions I had and helped my fiance and I even with design recommendations and layout recommendations. With the master bathroom we knocked down a wall and they build a beautiful custom shower as well as all new flooring, light figures, vanity, and painting. They redid the entire bathroom and we couldn't be happier with it. Again, I would recommend them to others.

I've worked with First Chicago Remodeling and Marian for over 10 years. He has completed renovations of kitchens and several bathrooms. He was the first person I called when I was considering removing an old deck and replacing it with a screen room. His work is aways great and his prices are always fair. Marian and Andy were absolutely exceptional to work with. What sets Marian apart is the attention to detail and his relentless pursuit to get things right. Marian takes takes a very personal approach and was consistently consulting with me to ensure he was meeting my needs. He takes time to look at small details, for example transitioning the floor from wood in the dining room to tile in my new kitchen and using some of the leftover floor to create a smooth look from one room to the other. Very simple, but vey thoughtful and well executed. He and Andy worked very quickly and went from demo to full installation of cabinets, floor tile, and appliances in just 10 days. Also, they were seamless in disposal of all old materials and fixtures during demo. I never worried about one thing. First Chicago Remodeling made my first major renovation project so easy and I can't wait to work with Marian and his team again.

I have not words to describe the professionalism, commitment, dedication and quality of the work done by First Chicago Remodeling. Marian, the owner of First Chicago Remodeling, gets it done right. Our project included demolition of a couple of walls in the kitchen, changing our flooring in living room, foyer and stairs up to our bedrooms from tile to wood. We interviewed various contractors and only Marian was willing to make our budget work for the kitchen of our dreams. He offered many ideas and options based on our budget, the quote was clear as to what materials and work the quote covered. Cabinets in the quote were affordable, same for counter top materials. He gave us option for higher end materials as long as we were willing to pay for the difference. In the end, we stuck with the cabinets and counter tops options included in the quote and our kitchen turned out gorgeous. He kept us updated as to their findings and what to expect when. Him and his crew remodeled our kitchen and living room area in record time. If it wasn't for the delay in the granite (counter top), our kitchen would have been ready in 5 weeks! He estimated 6 weeks and delivered within that time frame. He did such an excellent work and we want him back to remodel our basement. We will be ready to do that in the next year and I will only trust him with the work. Thank you Marian for such a great job and enriching our lives at home by making such a great transformation of our old kitchen/living room area to the beautiful place it is now!

Everything went very well Marion and Andrew were punctual and responsive to all of our questions and the work was exceptional. We got other quotes from some of the big box remodelers and they were about double what we paid. If you want a quality job for a reasonable price get your quotes from some other remodelers and then call Marion you won't be disappointed.

We purchased a vintage two flat and decided to remodel the kitchens and bathrooms before we moved into the property. I called several contractors but First Chicago Remodeling was the only one that was responsive and willing to work with us relative to our specific requirements. We also put in new electrical and plumbing systems as they were outdated-- property was built in the 1920s. Marian, the owner, listened to us and provided us with helpful feedback as we prepared to embark on this project. He had creative ways of designing the bathrooms and kitchens--all of which we liked. Marian and his crew were professional and easy to work with and we are extremely pleased with the outcome of the remodel. In fact, they did such great work that we also had them build a deck for us, redesign our garage and put in a new driveway. Marian was always open to hearing what we had to say relative to changes or issues as they came up. He was extremely patient with us and always followed through on what he said he would do for us. He also worked with the village inspectors to make sure the work was done to code. I would highly recommend First Chicago Remodeling to anyone looking for a honest and hardworking contractor. We will definitely use them again for our future remodeling needs. Thanks Marian, we love our house!

Marian Lempicki is professional, responsive and flexible. His work was excellent on both of our bathrooms, and we are thrilled with the results! From help with design, referrals to quality vendors, and timely, well-executed work, we found we could fully rely on him. He was referred to us by 2 different family members who had also worked with him, one for a bathroom remodel, and the other for a basement remodel.

We engaged Marion to upgrade our master bathroom (put in a new tub plus surrounding floor and wall tile). We are very happy with the outcome, our master bath now looks luxurious! Overall, Marion was very responsive to our concerns and follow-ups. When there was a leak as a result of demolition, Marion had his guys repair it even though it was due to the poor craftsmanship of original structure. Marion's team member Lado, who did the tile, was awesome. Even though we did not hire them to help with design, they offered suggestions based on our space. I.e., adding shelves procured through his network that matched our vanity. Marion was very helpful, assisting us with carrying a heavy delivery up three flights of stairs. Since this was our first home project, Marion was very patient and helped me understand items required as well as helping to pick out items when necessary. Marion was very responsive during the punch list, completing the project to our complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend Marion and his team for those looking for a reasonable and responsive contractor!

Marian and his team are absolute professionals. We sought out 5 total estimates reaching out to 3 from Angie's List, and 2 based on neighborhood referral. Marian from First Chicago was the only one to articulate a vision for the project and even give rough estimates on the spot. His bid was also one of the lowest which was a plus (though I would have chosen him regardless). Throughout the project Marian and his team were punctual and did great work. I do a lot of handy work and can be very specific about how things get done. This is one of the rare cases where I've hired someone to do work and didn't feel like I had to constantly check in on the quality of work completed. The timeline for the whole project start to finish was about 4 weeks, which is not bad considering the size of our job/bathroom. As with any home project, there are always surprises and the FC team handled them without any issues or concern. I 100% recommend First Chicago and will use them again.

With FIRST CHICAGO REMODELING Everything went perfect! Marian and his crew Chris and Robert worked very hard to accomplish what we wanted done. They were such a pleasure to work with that we felt like we lost part of the family when they were done. I have to mention that I do a lot of homework before hiring anyone for our projects. I had 7 quotes for this project. Marian did not come in as the lowest but his contract was all inclusive. He itemized everything and stuck to our contract.

I would definitely recommend to all my friends and family as they could of did the work I requested instead they were very honest by telling me the work wasn't needed and was going to refund the full deposit. Marian offers competitive prices. Marian respects deadlines. He's an honest man. Marian communicates throughout the project and is willing to admit if he made a mistake/forgot something. His team cleans up at the end of every work night to the best of its ability. Additionally, Marian was understanding of minimizing construction disruption to our toddler. We highly recommend Marian (and his team, Andy, Chris, and Robert). Marian has a great list of referrals if you need "a guy" for something else. Also, I appreciate that he didn't nickel and dime us for some additional small work we asked him to do. The work product looks great. We would hire Marian again and are happy to serve as a reference for him.

We would have rated Marian and his company an A across all categories but one of his workers ("Lado") was consistently unreliable - when he did show up he did great work but the not showing up was very frustrating . Otherwise, Marian's first crew were excellent, impeccable, clean and professional. Marian was responsive and professional as well. Although we were not happy about the unreliable worker, the overall work was beautifully done. And, in spite of the one worker, we would absolutely hire Marian and First Chicago Remodel again for any future projects.

Marian came to our house in June 2016 to take a look at the job. He was one of the four estimates that I had gotten for my basement finishing. Our basement was unfinished to start. After we got the four estimates Marian not only had the best price but he had the most knowledge when it came to construction and HVAC as we needed. We decided to go with Marian and he and his team started work in October. I was able to speak with Marian on a daily basis and he was very open to changes that I would request as the work was going on. I bought all the non construction material and he provided the rest. Marian also installed a new furnace and A/C for the second floor so that now we have a split system. Overall I am thoroughly satisfied with all that work that Marian and his crew have performed in my home. I would definitely hire again.

It went extremely well. Marian and his team were extremely thorough and did excellent work. We purchased all of the non-construction materials and Marian provided all the other materials. The key for me was that the work was being completed in my parents home and I could not be there daily to oversee and figure out what was happening. Marian and his team kept to all the agreed upon timelines and budgets. My parents asked for a few side items and Marian either did it free of charge or let me know the additional cost and I approved. I found it extremely easy to work with Marian and his team and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone.

This was an $88 big deal purchase. He was a nice enough guy. The drawings he did up -- we accepted them an all -- and we talked about it -- but I wasn't very impressed with them. I mean, it all worked out, he didn't do anything wrong, it is just I was not that impressed with the drawings because it was supposed to be, like, a 3-D model, and it wasn't a very good 3-D model. We thought it was going to be something else than what it was. The 3-D rendering didn't do anything for us. We were, like, thank you, and that was it. It was inexpensive and we didn't spend a ton of money. We were just looking for something else I think. The pricing was really reasonable. They were very responsive and were right on time. The graphics were not as expected.

We couldn't be happier! I'd saved and planned for the remodeling for quite some time, and after getting three quotes ( all of which were within $1000 of each other), we chose First Chicago Remodeling because we really liked Marian and were impressed by photos of other projects he'd done. It turned out to be a fabulous choice; the bathrooms were completed on time and within budget and the crew was professional. friendly and hardworking. They were on time every day and took time at the end of each day to clean up. Our bathrooms look great -- especially the tile work on the floors and shower walls. We are so pleased that we're planning on having Marian remodel our kitchen ( also from the 70s) in the fall.

We looked long and hard to see who would be the best fit for our bathroom project. We read many reviews and had about 5 actual estimates. After Marian came out to our place (first time for the initial quote, second time to tighten things up), we were certain we made the right decision. He was fair, honest, open minded, respectful of our home and committed to get the project done on time. We've worked with other contractors in the past who did not stand by their timeline and who left our home a mess, but this was never the case here.
Once the project began, we had progress each and every work day. As the project progressed, we had minor tweaks along the way, however with Marian's open mind and customer focused mind set, he was always willing to hear our thoughts and either run with them or suggest better/alternate solutions. In the end, we have a beautiful new master bathroom that was torn down to the studs.
We are extremely happy with Marian's work quality and workability. His team was very kind, skilled and trustworthy. After the first day, we decided it was even ok to leave the keys with them and head off to work. Very happy with our decision - highly recommended!

Marian Lempicki, the owner, was very helpful in providing competent sources for all the new materials needed (i.e. the island, lighting fixtures, countertops, etc). at far more reasonable prices than Home Depot or other stores. Marian was also very responsive via phone and text messaging at all times. Although one worker did show up quite late a few days, the crew overall worked long and hard with little interruption. They were knowledgeable, competent, pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. First Remodeling’s Estimate was much more reasonable than the other estimates we received. And as we kept extending the list of things to do they responded quickly at sometimes little to no cost (depending on what the addition was). We would definitely use Marian and his crew again.

Overall the process was very smooth. First Chicago installed all of the items we had already purchased in a timely fashion (6 working days). Price was the cheapest of three contractors as he was able to secure our counter top at a very reasonable price. Finished product looks great. We did have a few issues that needed to be touched up/corrected before the job could be considered complete, but Mirian took care of everything and ensured we were happy before he left.
My one area for recommended improvement is communication (hence the B ratings in professionalism). We were not told that our guest bedroom would be rendered useless during the project, as that's where they stored all of their equipment. There was also not much proactive communication from First Chicago about how the project was progressing and how exactly we wanted things done. I had to ask many of these questions in order to get the information. They did respond quickly when asked, but I would have felt more comfortable if they would have taken the initiative to keep me updated.

Over the past 10 years, Marian and First Chicago Remodeling have gut/rehabbed our kitchen and 3 separate bathrooms. The work is always great, the cost is always fair, and things are completed on the promised schedule. If you are considering a renovation, there is no reason to call anyone else.
Even a few years after our last project was complete, Marian was generous enough to find time to troubleshoot and repair an electrical problem. Before calling Marian, I had a "handyman" investigate the problem. He spent about 90 minutes reviewing the situation and provided a proposal a $1,200 to fix the problem (this visit cost me $235). In nearly the same amount of time and cost that I spent with the handyman, Marian diagnosed and fixed the problem.
