Terrible experience. We had been promised that we would not have any dimming lights or fuses blowing once our home was upgraded. Once the job was complete, the fuse blowing and dimming lights were worse. Electrician came back to the house, told us the problem couldn't possibly be an electrical issue and told us to buy a new GAS dryer. Liotta builders concurred with this assessment stating, "It is what it is." When I consulted with another electrician and our town electrical inspector, I was informed there were multiple possibilities that were electrically related. Primarily, neither Liotta Builders nor the electricians had contacted nor known to contact ComEd prior to beginning the job and at the end of the job. ComEd stated that the contractor and/or the electrician make the contact. I had to initiate contact which led to an unnecessary several month delay in having the service from the pole to the house upgraded to meet the new 200 amp service. Once this was completed, the dimming ceased. The fuse blowing remains an issue and will be addressed by a competent electrician. They also failed to wire a light switch per plan and did not insulate any outlets. I also did not feel secure as one morning I awoke to find one of the electricians in my home without my knowledge. Liotta Builders felt it was appropriate to let the subcontractor know how to access my home. The electrician did so while I was sleeping and did nothing to inform me of his presence. I found the actions of both Liotta employee and this electrician incredibly disturbing. This did prompt us to get an alarm system.
Description of Work: As a subcontractor for Liotta Builders, they were to upgrade the home to 200amp service and rewire the East side of our home.
