Signature Development Group Inc

When I moved back to the Lake County area to help my mother, i moved in with her and needed to increase the size of the home from the original 1300 sq ft home.  I hired an architect, and once plans were drawn, started getting referrals of contractors from different people, friends, neighbors etc.  I received this name from my neighbor, and had 5 other bids.  I met personally with all the contractors, showed them what I wanted, and explained that I needed to keep within a certain range as I was depending on funds from the sale of my previous home.

I immediately felt at ease with Ken Frank of Signature Development Group, Inc., and Brad Weber of BL Weber construction Company.  Brad Weber did all the concrete work and it is the best I've seen.  I told them what my figure was, we walked through and around the home, went over the plans,  asked/answered questions clearly and ensured I understood what was going to happen.  I recd all bids back, and not only was Ken's company referred by my neighbor, he also was the lowest bid, within my budget and with a local presence.  I signed the contract with them and away we went.  Anything that was not detailed on my architect plans was covered with their contract.  All was very thorough.  Ken had the additional challenge to "button up" the remodel, since my 82 YO Mother and I would be working and residing at the home while they were remodeling.  They set us up with a temporary kitchen in the basement, sealed off the main home, so that any dirt/dust was contained as best as possible.  All the workers, subcontractors hired, were professional and courteous at all times.  They became like part of the family.

Ken gave me allowances and gave me the latitude to choose my own fixtures, flooring, cabinets and tile work.  Contracts readjusted to an even lower amount due to my decision to use external dealers for certain items.  Even plumbing fixtures, they backed out since I decided to order everything online.  If I couldn't come up with someone to do further upgrades, Ken was ready with suggestions of people he had used in the past and gave me numbers for them and of course, the option of him hiring them or me on my own, but with him still coordinating with that contractor.

Ken gave me a timeline to work with, when things would be done, when I needed to order and have my special items to them for installation.  As with any remodel, there were several issues that go along with an older home, and they handled these challenges with professionalism and ease.  When the garage header was noted as rotted, they quickly found a solution and gave me a quote to complete the work.  Several items that I requested be done along the way were also handled quickly and painlessly.  I replaced all the windows, siding, roof which had to be repeaked to accommodate the remodel, extended the existing chimney.  They communicated with me throughout the entire process, took my calls, my emails and didn't think twice about answering and helping me with questions, concerns or additional items I wanted. They took the time to give me advice on items i was considering putting in whether good or bad, whether I should tweak certain things and played the part of my sounding board since I was doing this alone.  They always made me feel comfortable, explained things they were doing so that I understood (I got quite an education in building/remodeling!) let me come to them with any question, and let me take all the pictures I wanted (ended up with over 200 as they went along!)  They have a wonderful demeanor and great sense of humor which I truly appreciated!

The end result?  I'M THRILLED WITH MY NEW HOME.  My mother is thrilled and that's going some!  Ken Frank and his company Signature Development Group, Inc are, in my book, "Fabulous".   I highly recommend them.  Ken is as honest as the day is long, and I trust his opinion, judgment and overall work and ethics.  You will not be disappointed!
