I was able to promptly schedule an appointment and the technician arrived within the two-hour window as promised. He was friendly, answered all my questions and quickly got the garage door back in working order.

They were very thorough and they gave me the price before they started their work. I needed new weather stripping and light bulbs and all of the mechanisms needed to be checked. I found their prices very reasonable and they did a very good job with the garage door. I would highly recommend this company.

We are very satisfied. They came they day after we called them which we really liked. The technician was extremely professional and we have no complaints about what they did.

Called Overhead Garage Door (847-546-6600) to repair an eleven year old garage door which had become inoperative. Overhead provides appointment times in two-hour increments and was available to come to my house the next day between 11am and 1pm. Scott B arrived at my home precisely at 11am and inspected the door and advised that both springs were broken and must be replaced. Scott further indicated that it was highly unusual for both springs to break and suggested that we had likely been operating the door with one broken spring for some time but breakage of the second spring caused the entire door to become inoperative. Scott replaced the springs within 30 minutes and charged $224, plus an $8 fuel charge. Asked Scott if he could provide an Angie's list discount but he was only able to offer $10 off. Final price was $222. I have no idea if this is a fair rice but was happy to have the quick repair.

Went great. Called, someone came out on the next Saturday to take a look. Left us a catalog with door info and prices and contact information. We picked out the door we wanted and contacted them again (to be honest, the final price was a few dollars more than the original quote but compared to the overall cost the difference was inconsequential). There was a short delay since it had to be ordered (versus being in stock), but we were in no hurry. Installed it the day they said, hauled away the old door/hardware, hooked the new door up to our existing garage door opener. An added bonus was that while the color we picked out didn't look that close to our trim in the catalog and we figured we would need to paint the door, the color in reality was almost identical - you can only tell the difference if you're looking for it.

Overall, I was pleased with the work they performed. After my husband accidentally damaged the top two panels to one of our garage doors, I called Overhead to see about getting them replaced. They set up an appointment for the very next day to come out and give us an estimate. The gentleman arrived promptly and gave us what we consider a fair estimate. Because the door is an odd size, the panels had to be ordered; the company claimed it would take about 2 weeks and they'd call me to set up the install once the panels came in. The panels arrived in a little over a week, and the appointment was set. Unfortunately, the installer didn't arrive during the scheduled 2 hour window. After waiting half an hour beyond the window, I left the house to run errands. Of course, when I got home later that evening, there was a note saying the installer had missed me (he was an hour late), and I'd need to call to reschedule. I did and got another appointment for two days after the original. The installer showed up within the time frame, replaced the panels quickly and cleanly, and hauled off the old panels for us as well.

The installer was prompt and did the work in less than 2 hours. He made sure that I was satisfied with the work and the area was cleaned after the install. He made sure that there were no nails left behind. Everyone from the person that gave me my estimate, the office that set up my order and install and the installers were professional and made sure that the work was top rate. Thanks.

Tech showed up right at beginning of 2-hour arrival window. Door opener was an old model, and I was concerned he was going to have to replace it, but he diagnosed a faulty capacitor in 15 minutes, had the replacement in his truck, and completed the work in another 10. He also lubricated door tracks and rollers.

As always, top notch. On time as scheduled. Polite, fast, listened, got the job done. Had to replace the wall button as it seems it was malfunctioning. He also cleaned the photoelectric eyes, checked the gears, lubed the door and the opener. Done in less than 1/2 hour.

They were very upfront about what needed to be done and how much they were going to charge for their services. They worked quickly and efficiently. We have been using them since we bought the house and wouldn't use any other company!

I called them to replace a broken spring on a Saturday afternoon after my usual garage door company wanted to charge me for four hours of labor on a one hour job. Overhead's total firm quote for the job was about one third of the estimate from the company I had previously used. After the service person had about 1/2 an hour into the job, I asked him about the cost of a new door, which we had already been considering. We ended up ordering a new door a few days later and were not charged at all for the original service call. The new door was installed on time and on budget. We were quote happy with the price and quality of work as well as the friendliness and attitude of the service people.

Wade came out to fix the spring on my garage door. Did a great job. After the job was completed he said I would need a new opener. I said why, and he mentioned that the sprocket was shot. After Wade left, I noticed that the chain was missing which was originally there when he first started. I contacted the company twice and they said they didn't have it.

Our first impression of this firm was given by the young man who came to give us information on their products and give us an estimate for the work we wanted done. He was polite, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. He said it would take about two weeks to get our (special order) door, and they would call us. About 12 working days later, on a Tuesday, they called and said the installer would be here the following Friday about one o'clock. He was indeed here at that time and completed the job and cleaned up in about three hours. He explained how everything worked and gave us all the manuals and literature that came with the equipment. It was as straightforward and smooth an operation as anyone could hope for, and everything works perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone, anytime. It's the assistance in easily locating firms like this that make membership in Angie's List well worth the money.

I was desperate! Garage wouldn't open with my car in it. I called Overhead and was greeted by a knowledgeable and professional gentleman. We decided I would probably need a replacement unit. I was then scheduled for 2 hours later. It is now 3.5 hours later and I have a new opener, key pad, key chain remote AND standard remote for my opener. I was also given thorough instructions by the installer, Rene. He was extremely efficient, professional and polite. Rene even warned me of a possible fire risk I had in the garage! I happened to have the right piece to correct it and he put that together too! This company is A+!!! They not only have great products and prices, the personnel is pleasant to deal with. I even saw Rene constantly wiping the unit. He even left without a mess. Rene reminded me of my rebate too! I would have forgotten otherwise. No pressure and wonderful work. Overhead Garage Door, Inc. will always be my recommendation. You cannot go wrong with this company.

The company was very helpful. The receptionist arranged an appointment the next day within a two hour window. The tech, Scott, was on time, courteous, and did a good job. The fee was less than I thought it would be based on the info I gathered before I contacted the company. One or two anomalies - the company shows an address on the List in Wheeling, Illinois (which made me wonder whether it would service my location), but it is actually in Ingleside, Illinois, and neither the receptionist nor the tech had heard of Angie's List.

The company is GREAT! I would HIGHLY recommend. I had a broken door. They came out the same day I called and also installed the same day. Everyone I talked to on the phone was very nice and helpful as well as the installer. I got this company from Angie's list and am very glad I did.

The workman came slightly later than expected and laid on the doorbell impatiently. But, after that, we were smooth sailing! When I compare the work that they did to the work that my previous company had been doing for me over the past 5 years, the experience is like night and day. They attached the arm and bracket so that there is no movement which was causing stress on the springs. They oiled and greased all working parts as the somehow was never done upon installation with my former company. This 50 year old heavy garage door is now light as a feather because the springs are proper and adjusted correctly. I suspect that the springs were breaking prematurely because they simply were not installed in the correct manner. I look forward to these lasting much longer and am enjoying the fact that the door barely makes any noise! Good job!

HE WAS ON TIME. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND FOUND THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY. HE FIXED THE PROBLEM AND INSTALLED THE NEW KEY PAD. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

THE TWO WORKMEN WHO ARRIVED VERY CLOSE TO THE ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL WENT RIGHT TO WORK. A MESSY JOB AS OLD DOOR WAS LITERALLY FALLING APART AS THEY WERE DISASSEMBLING. INSTALLED ALL VERY NICELY. LOOKS FABULOUS.

MADE APPOINTMENT AND MIKE WAS EXACTLY ON TIME. WORK COMPLETED QUICKLY. HE DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT BOTTOM RUBBER TRACK ON THE TRUCK, HOWEVER, SO HE SET UP ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR THAT AND TOLD ME THE PARTS ONLY PRICE FOR THAT. I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THE $75 LABOR CHARGE AGAIN. SCOTT B ARRIVED FOR THE SECOND APPOINTMENT AND QUICKLY REPLACED THE RUBBER. HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE NO LABOR CHARGE, BUT IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT OFF WHEN I SHOWED HIM THE EARLIER BILL. I'M GLAD I REMEMBERED WHAT WAS SAID AT THE FIRST APPOINTMENT!
