The Great Frame up

I have always had my art, photos, and treasured items professionally framed. I have over 100 pieces in my home, done by various venders through the years, and all done to my satisfaction. My complaint was not only with the actual work done, but also the lack of professionalism. I asked for lettering describing the piece, which they did not do. We settled on a metal plaque to describe the information about the piece being framed. When picked up instead of the metal plaque the information I requested for the piece was done in cardboard stick on glitter lettering, and done on one long line instead of two lines I requested. I was not happy with the finished product. The owner shared with me that the company they use did not respond, as well as how expensive it was getting to use the metal plaques. He also shared that the lettering came from Hobby Lobby if I wanted to look at what they had. He seemed to have a 'chip on his shoulder' when explaining to me why he did what he did. I was obviously not happy with his choices. Since the item was already paid for, I had not leverage, so I accepted the item and left. When I called to ask for an adjustment in the price I paid, since I did not receive the original plaque we discussed, he said it would be $35 more, due to the labor involved in placing the letters. I won't go into the discussion, but I felt unheard and in my view he was not trying to keep a customer, hanging up when i shared my frustration. In my opinion he was rude and not very helpful. I ended up taking the piece to another framer to fix. They recut a new mat, did the lettering, and the piece is lovely. I will never go back to this shop, and I will never recommend them to anyone. His attitude though the whole process was not professional nor helpful to me.

THE PERSON THAT ASSISTED ME AT THE GREAT FRAME UP WAS VERY HELPFUL IN CHOOSING BOTH FRAMES AS WELL AS MATTING. HE EXPLAINED THE PROS AND CONS OF VARIOUS CHOICES, AND DIDN'T SEEM TO BE IN ANY HURRY TO MAKE ME CHOOSE. BOTH PIECES TURNED OUT VERY NICELY, AND QUITE REASONABLY PRICED COMPARED WITH SOME PREVIOUS ARTWORK WE HAVE HAD FRAMED. WE WOULD USE GREAT FRAME UP OF HOMEWOOD AGAIN.
