"Thank you so much! We really do try!"
Construction Risk Management, Chris and Adam were awesome to work with. During the construction, Chris always touched base with us to make sure we were all on the same page. They take pride in the work they do and make sure it is done right.
Now for my review:
We had water damage on our floor from our refrigerator. The insurance company was paying to rip up the floor so we decided to do a complete remodel - floor, cabinets, counter tops, sink, electric, plumbing and removing a wall.
Construction Risk Management was recommended by a co-worker. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and she assured me that Chris and Adam would not disappoint. When they came to give us an estimate, they were prompt and professional, they took their time and answered all of our questions and concerns. 2 days later we had a quote and a timeline. Chris worked wonderfully with our insurance company, giving them all the information they needed.
Demo day:
Chris and Adam covered the openings with plastic taking care not to make a mess of the rest of the house, but they were tearing up a concrete floor so let's face it, dust was inevitable!!
Rebuilding:
Chris and Adam are sticklers for codes. Everything they did was level and all electric and plumbing was up to code. They worked everyday, M-F, 8 - 12 hour days. My floor wasn't level and they took the time to level it properly. They were ahead of their timeline when the cabinets came in but they were made wrong by the cabinet company. That was a 3 week set back. Chris and Adam put in the cabinets that they could use and got me a partial usable kitchen with a frig and a stove, I was so happy!! When the new cabinets were finally delivered they were right back to work.
The Result:
My kitchen is beautiful, level, up to code. There is so much more that Chris and Adam did that is above my understanding of construction and remodeling and all that I can say is, they did the kind of job that we were hoping they would do and that says a lot.
The future:
During the "3 week set back" in the beginning of February, we had a snow storm. The roof of our 3 season room began to sag from the weight of the snow. Chris came out to look at it, braced it and is in contact with our insurance company so they can get started on that job in the spring along with our siding and roof. But before that, they will be remodeling the last of our bathrooms!! As you can tell, we would trust him to do any work that needs to be done on our house.
A little background:
We had planned to remodel our small bathroom before the kitchen damage. Our insurance company sent a contractor to look at the kitchen damage. While he was there, we asked him quote the bathroom work. We gave them the job with the potential of the huge kitchen remodel (you would think that would be incentive). A job that should have taken 7 - 10 days took over 3 weeks and was not ready for Thanksgiving as promised. The workmanship in our bathroom was terrible. The materials that they wanted to use were below standard and we had to insist they use better materials. There was absolutely no pride in their work and the only time the lead contractor showed up was to collect money. Then he had the nerve to ask us if we'd give him a shot at the kitchen. Not a chance!!
So...we've had awful and we've had great!! Great is better!!!
