I am so happy that I decided to hire Rich to install my new a/c and furnace. I had called another company to give me a quote and decided to call Rich as well. Rich came out the same day and quoted me $2k less than the other company WITH a better furnace and a/c! During install my son let the cat in the room where my furnace was being installed, while Rich was outside, and my cat ran into the duct and we did not know. After my furnace was finished being installed Rich noticed my cat had snuck inside. Even though this set him back an hour, because he had to take it apart and then put it back together to get the cat out, he did not let me pay him extra or even seem upset by it. He just wanted to make sure the cat was okay. I don't usually write reviews but I had to after this! My a/c is running great and my house cools off much faster now.

When my HVAC unit went out I called A n 1 at 12:30am, as I have gotten home from work not too long ago. He answer and said he be right there. He came through check it all out and let us know exactly what needed to be done. He quote us too on the price if we decide to stick with him. Since he is a smaller personally owned company he didn't have financial options. So we had to think if over. Anyways I offer to give him some cash for coming out here so late and he kindly refuse, which was very kind of him. Even though it was already 2am by the time he was done checking it all out. After a few calls to other companies we realize we rather pay a hard working, honest man and help smaller local business. Also his price was unbeatable and the quote he quoted us was what we pay no hidden cost or anything. Needless to say we were highly satisfy with his work and his honesty. He was upfront with what was needed and didn't not try to sell us on anything else. Highly recommend his service! And the price was very reasonable!!!

Our air went out at the start of summer during an extremely hot period (90's+!). Due to the way our place is set up, it was a REALLY tough install that required using a crane to get the AC on the roof, and pulling the water heater - which it turns out needed replacement also (ugh!). Rich came to our rescue, even loaning us a portable AC that we could use until the install could be done. He worked hard, and coordinated well with the plumber we had in to pull/replace the water heater. He was friendly, very flexible and did good work. We're very happy with the service he gave us. On top of all of this, his price was very reasonable. Much less than the other guys and some of them took one look at our system and flat out refused the job! I highly recommend you call Rich and skip some of the "big names" in town that want to charge more, and work less hard for you. Its rare to find service companies these days with a solid work ethic, who deliver great service for a fair price.

Rich was incredibly easy to work with. Discounted the new unit the price of the freon used to charge the old one. Got me in right away. Easy communication through emails and text messages. I was out of town but he kept me updated. Had friends check in on him and were very happy with his work and easy to communicate with. Couldn't be anymore pleased!

Quick, efficient, and professional

Awesome, diagnosed problem over the phone by me trying to run the furnace. Ordered the part on Monday, came Wednesday on time, very professional, very fast, and very well UNDER cost of anyone by a LONG shot. I was shocked to find out he drove from close to Illinois Indiana border and under priced the place 2 miles from me by a lot.

Rich was awesome! He followed up, answered all of my questions, and gave us the best price! He was on time, professional, and he made sure the job was done right.

The new system was working well and Rich did spend a whole day working hard to install the system. Overall, it is a good experience, and he managed to help us save a lot of money. He is also very friendly and offered to help us fix other small problems in the house which are not part of his responsibility. I recommend his service. The only thing that is less pleasant in the experience is that he did reschedule a couple times, but he always texted me a couple hours before the appointment to reschedule.

I was very impressed with Rich throughout the entire process of working with him. He gave us the best price for the same appliances the other companies were going to install. I recently moved into a home with an older A/C and scheduled a tune-up with A-1 based on the positive reviews. I'm happy I did! Rich is very personable and professional. He topped off my refrigerant for an additional $40 on top of the $99 initial tune-up. The work was all completed to my satisfaction and I will be using A-1 for any future HVAC needs.

Rich was outstanding! He was friendly and very attentive to details. He showed up when he said he would for the work, and provided exactly what he quoted. He beat all competitors (exactly matching the equipment) and saved us thousands of dollars. It is evident that Rich is not trying to make a killing, just a living. We are satisfied customers and highly recommend him!

Rich was prompt, friendly and professional. He was straight with me and honest. 

Another HVAC company told me I had to install pumps to each unit (I have 3) to help the flow of water (a total of $600). Rich explained to me that all that was needed were some "T" pvc for venting ($0.39 each) that he had on hand. Since it was a quick task, he put them in for free.

He gave me a price that was $1,200 LESS than another estimate.

On the work
He called the day before letting me know the weather looked bad on the day of the install - depending on the weather, he might have to do it the following day. I really appreciated that notice given I have tenants. It was very professional.

When the weather was better, he showed up- as promised - and he kept in communication with me.

A few hours after he left it wasn't cooling the apt. We chatted by text even though it was late. He came out the next day without complaint and fixed the problem. All the while keeping me informed.

Overall
Although the install was a bit bumpy, he never complained, was considerate, easy to work with and treated me very well.

He has earned a customer for life.
