They did a real, real good job. All the cuts they made on the floor are perfect. We have a wall that runs on an angle and they cut all the angle cuts. You can see all the cuts and they are straight lined, they are beautiful.

I have utilized Crockett Construction Company numerous times for repairs and remodeling prefects on my property and in my home. They are always professional, courteous, and always reasonably priced. I always recommend them to others.

The remodel took much longer than the contractor had originally stated. A project that should have take 6 - 8 weeks started July 13, 2015 and was not completed until 12-18-15. Delays started almost from day one with confusion on the shower plan. Todd Crockett never supplied drawings or communicated his plans for the shower and when we finally learned what he was installing we did not like his design since it was not what we had discussed earlier. Work had to be stopped while we selected and purchased the correct shower to be installed. In the original contract we were going to paint the bathroom ourselves but we requested Crockett Construction to do that instead. When we received the Change Order for this job there was an additional charge of $2,150.00 for the installation of interconnected, battery backup smoke detectors. This additional work was not presented in the original contract nor was it ever discussed with us at any other time. After doing some research we determined that this is a requirement of the Village of Downers Grove but Todd Crockett should have discussed this with us instead of just sending a bill for the work. Ultimately, we decided to hire ProElectric to install interconnected, battery backup smoke detectors throughout the house. They added another smoke detector and completed the work at a lower cost. Once again work was delayed due to Todd's lack of communication. The original bid Crockett Construction submitted to us included flush oak doors. When we asked to find a way to lower the cost the new bid (which we accepted) included raised panel doors to be painted. When the doors were installed in early September it was clear something was wrong. The bottom of the doors had been trimmed to accommodate the lower ceilings in our house so the bore holes for the locksets were not drilled through the lock block. They were drilled through the hollow part of the door and missed the center panel of the doors, too. Needless to say, the doors looked ridiculous. It wasn't until we expressed our dissatisfaction with the doors that Todd Crockett explained that he had to order custom doors for our project due to the low ceilings and the doors would not have even reveals. This problem could have been prevented if #1 Todd had not added raised panel doors to his 2nd bid or #2 if Todd had explained how raised panel doors would be modified to fit our house. Again, his lack of communication created another delay and we had to pay almost $600.00 more to get flush doors cut to size. While we worked out a solution to the door mistake all work ceased on our remodel which delayed the project by approximately 5 more weeks. The paint work was below industry standards. There was debris left behind on the walls, doors and trim work that had to be sanded and painted over more than once. The painter washed his painting supplies in our utility tub pouring paint down the drain instead of using the hose outside. He also splattered paint on our water heater and brand new washer and dryer. A highlight of our remodel was John McGuire, our project manager. It is hard work keeping the customer happy, especially when we had such problems, but he was always professional, courtesy, and sympathetic to our frustrations. When the project was completed we were, and are, happy with the results. We expected delays during our project but did not expect that the long delays would be caused by poor communication by our contractor. Our recommendation for anyone who is considering working with Todd Crockett and Crockett Construction is to request detailed drawings of all aspects of the work to be completed. We would also suggest that there be monetary incentives to have the work completed in a more timely fashion.

Things started well. Demo done quickly. communication good. Turned around very quickly, left house open for worker did not show up. Went 1 whole week w/ no communication. Fridge does not fit properly in built cabinet seams on trim very obvious errors on final bill went whole weekend w/out electricity.

Good. They were on time everyday and the job was done quickly.

Todd Crockett came to our home gave us an estimate, a strut date & a completion date. The job went extremely well.
