Dale's Independent Contracting Services

He did not finish my job which I paid him for. It was supposed to be completed in less than 2 weeks. It has been almost 14 months and he does not respond to my messages to him. He installed the new garage doors improperly and I will more than likely have to buy new garage doors. I hired a new contractor to finish the job. Beware of Dale's Independent Contracting.

Dale did a fantastic job finishing our walkout basement! We had about 1000 sq ft of unfinished space downstairs to which we added a fully finished large living space, ¾ bathroom, and guest bedroom. Every step of the way Dale was easy to work with and accommodated our needs. We had a few bids but Dale got the job for 3 main reasons. First, he was prompt in his response for a bid request. He usually answers his phone, which, based on some of our past experiences, is a big plus. When he came out, he was willing to give a ballpark price initially which we really appreciated. (This was in contrast to several other attempts for bids which yielded either untimely bids or no bids/responses at all, and/or required an entire separate discussion/visit just to get an idea of pricing.) Second, Daleâ s quote was very competitive/reasonable. Third, Dale ensured us that he would be directly involved every step of the way, as both the project manager and hands-on construction lead, present every day at the job site. This last point alone was very important to us, as we have had somewhat negative experiences dealing with contracting teams in the past for which this was not the case. (i.e. The person who bids the job is not the same person who works the job.) A single point of contact and accountability throughout the entire project was something we wanted and that Dale provided. For the most part we had a very particular vision and Dale was able to deliver what we asked, despite some challenging specifics. On top of all the basic finishing work, Dale helped design and install a 5.1 in-wall/ceiling home theater speaker system. This included custom floating corner shelves and all in-wall/ceiling wiring (speaker wire, HDMI, ethernet, and coax). (The shelves each have their own power outlet and separate conduit connects them all for various wiring requirements.) He also installed our custom tile shower (straight herringbone pattern) with glass splash guards and floor-to-ceiling tile (9 ft ceiling). He built and installed another set of custom floating shelves in the theater as well as a custom bench in the bedroom with cubbies underneath. We designed some of this but Dale was also a big help with the design, providing us some options/suggestions that helped us develop our vision for the space and its accessories. This was a big project which took longer to complete than predicted and per our personality types, we fretted somewhat throughout. Dale always addressed our concerns promptly and to our satisfaction. On a few occasions we ran into some (minor) issues that Dale was quick to remediate. This attention to the â customer serviceâ aspect of the job is of high importance to us and again we were very pleased with Dale in this regard. Besides staining (for our custom woodwork) and carpet installation, Dale took care of virtually every detail, from rough finishing to electrical and plumbing to hardware installation, etc. In short, we highly recommend Daleâ s Independent Contract Services, and hope to work with him again soon!

I originally hired Dale for a bathroom remodel and new flooring throughout the entire house. He did such an excellent job on both of those projects that I have since hired him 3 more times for additional projects around my house. All his work is top quality. He is dependable, honest, and very easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Good job but may have been in to much of a rush to finish in the end, and made some errors.

Dale was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, timely and efficient. The job was hang and tape drywall in the basement that I’m finishing. I had some particular requests for areas to work around and there was a very professional quality when completed.

I found Dale on Home Advisor. He literally called me within 15 minutes of my submission. We had a bathtub drain leaking into the downstairs. He came in the evening another job and fixed the issue. He then repaired the drywall, sanded and painted. He was always on time! This is such a rarity with other construction services I've used in the past. I will call Dale for any other projects that come up!

Dale always arrived when he was scheduled. He and his coworker did a great job. Drywall finish was wonderful. Great to work with. Very fair price.

He is currently finishing up the job. He worked us into his schedule. He has been incredible to keep in touch with us, moving ahead of schedule. I am impressed. We would hire again!

Needed a repair in a hurry. He was very responsive and kept in contact with us. Dale was not only on time, but early for the appointment. He was able to repair the damage in a timely manner and did not leave a mess. We would hire him again.
