I called Voytech, he arrived early to our appointment and I proceeded to give him 10 addresses to evaluate for potential claims.
He was honest and at the end there was nothing to claim but he was a pro throughout.
Highly recommended!
Few days after that, Insurance adjuster arrived and started to perform his inspection. He was not very pleasant; he acted like he really didn’t care about our loss. After spending maybe 10 minutes at our property he said that he is willing to pay only for half of the roof and he made it clear that we will not get a penny more…
I did some research on line and I found a company who could help me resolve our dispute with insurance company. Progressive Adjustments is a licensed public adjuster firm who acts as our legal representative against my insurance company in a claim process.
They challenged insurance estimate by requesting appraisal. They have met with my insurance company representative one more time at the property and after tough negotiation process not only they have made insurance company pay for entire roof but also for some additional items such as gutters, windows wraps, awnings, etc. Basically the doubled the amount of the claim.
Outstanding performance. Great service. Thank you.
Flooring was soaking wet, walls and baseboards ruined and hardwood floor started to buckle.
Not to mention most of my personal goods was severely damaged by water.
I called my insurance agent and filed the claim. However, after insurance adjuster visit on site I was not satisfied with the settlement. In my opinion insurance estimate was way too low.
Moreover, Insurance representative could not address clearly any of my concerns and his explanation for the low amount of the settlement was not sufficient policy coverage.
I knew something was not right. At the same time I realized that I don’t have enough knowledge of insurance law and construction background so I could fight against them myself.
I called Progressive Adjustments because they specialize in adjusting underpaid claims.
Basically they act as “your advocate” against your insurance carrier. If you feel that your claim has been underpaid they evaluate an insurance estimate, check your policy coverage and cross reference with local building codes and ordinances.
If they find an evidence of insurance negligence they prepare an independent estimate and negotiate the final settlement amount directly with your insurance carrier.
For such service they charge a fair amount commission which is a percentage value of the surplus of the estimate before and after their involvement.
Bottom line: from the proposed initial settlement of $3500 they were able to settle the final amount of 11,500. After their “cut” I ended up in over 150% more.
Thank you Guys.
In general very professional service. They kept us up to date with the claim process.
Technically their service ends with the settlement check but they really stepped up and helped us to coordinate work with different contractors to utilize restoration time more efficient.
You must remember one thing:
They are public adjusters not builders or contractors - they are looking for an extra money from insurance claim. That's it.
Restoration process is a totally different animal, separate restoration contracts, different companies involved, etc
They just coordinate everything to go smooth through the process and really provide service from A to Z
I had never actually filed an insurance claim on my home before and still called a couple local contractors first before I even called Progressive Adjustments. Progressive Adjustments offered me a free consultation and in my mind, if I did not have to deal with the insurance company, I did not want to have to. I did not think it would be worth it to file a claim on the damage and I thought it would just be a big hassle and big time commitment on my end with the insurance company and all the going back and forth. One thing I do know is insurance companies are more in the business of collecting premiums than in paying out on claims.
Look what happened in Florida a several years back with the hurricane damage, insurance companies denied claims to the point of the Attorney General having to step in and take them to court. Same thing happened in Chicago with flooding damage a few years back; so many people I know were not covered because they did not know they had to have “special riders” in place. Just having flood protection was not enough; they did not know they had to cover the loop holes in their policy too.
So I did end up calling Progressive Adjustments and had them come out to my home. Am I glad I did! Looking back it still amazes me how well everything turned out. Not only did I have damage that was due to a specific weather event, but it turned out in the end I needed a whole new roof!
Progressive Adjustments came out to review the damage and my insurance policy. I was informed it looked like I had a claim and the next step was to have them represent me and then they would contact the insurance company. The insurance company agreed on the damages and offered to make repairs on one section of the house that amounted to roughly $4, 000 in repairs.Progressive Adjustments was not satisfied with this, because from their experience, they knew certain towns did not allow any repairs once you have 2 + layers of shingles existing. Besides making such repairs by patching in new with the old is really not effective long term.
I just let Progressive Adjustments handle everything and I mean everything with the insurance company. All along through the entire process, they under promised and over delivered. What a refreshing business service approach!
It was an involved process going back and forth and back and forth with the insurance company. The insurance company would deny part of the claim and Progressive Adjustments would counter with more information and backup that was all within the scope of the insurance policy. In the end, through Progressive Adjustments diligence, expertise, knowledge and professionalism, the insurance company agreed to do a full tear off with new plywood sheathing and completely replace my entire, including gutters and the flat roof section of my house! As a bonus, Progressive Adjustments installed Architectural Shingles with a 30 year Warranty.
I believe the experience and professional relationships Progressive Adjustments has with all the various insurance companies claims adjusters and the respect they have in the industry, must have played a part in my receiving the full benefits rightfully due me though my insurance coverage in my policy.
I would have never received anywhere near the compensation on my claim that I was rightfully due had it not been for Progressive Adjustments. Nor for that matter, would I even probably have made a claim in the first place. If I had filed the claim myself, I would have received only the $4000 and would have had nothing but problems in the future with that patch job! The total claim value in the end came to over $19,000 and now I have full brand new roof and the peace of mind that comes with knowing I have a safe and secure home for the next 30 years. That is a wonderful feeling!
Mind you, I had a roof that had 3 layers and cedar shake as the base layer. It all had to be torn off and new plywood sheathing was put down as the base layer. It was a huge job. Since Progressive Adjustments did such a great job in working with the insurance company, I decided to go with their in house roofing company. That worked out great for me as well and their guys could not have been more accommodating. They did a fantastic job and took care of everything to my complete satisfaction.
I have already recommended Progressive Adjustments to four of my friends, with them having similar results and I will continue to recommend them. I cannot sing their praises enough; they really did a fantastic job for me and my family.
