Jerry and his team installed a Snow Melt System for our driveway (which also heats the garage floor). The home was a new construction and of all the trades that we had work on the project JC Heating was the most professional, best organized and the most competent. I called all around Chicago looking for someone that could do this project and in the end I was very glad that we went with JC Heating for this big project. Thank you JC Heating!

After the initial evaluation ( which was scheduled quickly), I had to keep hounding the company to send me an estimate and then schedule the work. The work, however, was exceedingly well done. And they were the only company willing to work through the layers of insulation in the attic. The workmen were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. And the A/C works just fine now. Very pleased with the work. And they need a more efficient system on the front end.

Our furnace after 23 years gave out. We were extremely pleased with the firm's professionalism, fair & competitive proposal & quick response- especially during the cold weather.

Owner (Jerry) came out evaluated situation and made recommendations to create two-zone system in most efficient manner.  Also assessed basement situation and made less expensive recommendations than what I had requested.  He indicated that with some closed cell foam insulation and a less expensive solution, I could get better results. (Post installation, he is right and it works great).
Installation went very well and afterwards the system needed a few tweaks to get it right with hot water heat. JC Heating and Cooling was very prompt in returning to get it just right.
I would highly recommend them as Jerry treats your house like its his house and money.  He recommends good high quality fix but at an efficient cost.

It went smoothly and quickly.  Jerry, the president of the company actually did the work and had all the material with him.  He explained the fact that the motor had lost a bearing and was causing the squirrel cage to vibrate out of tolerance which made the motor seize up and overheat.  He gave us a discount and a 1 year warranty

We are extremely pleased with this company. Jerry listened to our concerns and fully explained his commendations for furnace and A/C replacement units, and for adding air return and supply vents to our basement family room. Because we wanted quiet operation, Jerry suggested additional insulation. During the hot days in the past two months, the A/C has been great--even cooling throughout the house and very quiet operation.
The price was competitive and better than the other two companies we interviewed. Jerry and his installation team were very professional and courteous. They used drop cloths across access areas, thoroughly cleaned the work area and completed the whole job in one long day.  Also, the office staff was very helpful in getting paperwork for an energy rebate.

My ex-husband called me when he found his hot water heater beginning to leak at his home in Oak Park. I went on Angie's List and found the above named company. He called the next morning--they told him they would be out the next day--sometime that afternoon they called and said they could come out that afternoon--they installed a new hot water heater and cleaned up all the mess afterwards.

Everything went well and in a timely manner. The follow-up was great. We told them that if they were able to fix our wine cellar, they'd have our business from now on (several unsuccessful attempts had been made by other companies). They did what they said they would do and now they have our business. I would highly recommend them.

Wanted to get an estimate from a few dealers before actually replacing original A/C system. Jerry was very professional from the very first moment we talked with him and set up the appointment all the way to following up with us after the job was complete.
Having a few contractors giving estimates really showed us the difference in the time and thoroughness Jerry presented out options and detailed report of just what he was going to do start to finish as part of the job. Other quotes with other vendors I had to call them to see what was included but in J.C. Heating and Cooling the estimate answered all of my questions such as what exact models and even if the electrical or A/C lines where going to be reused (which they did replace both). Since we had a recent furnace installed almost 1 year ago, Jerry never tried to sell anything with the furnace and suggested things that could be done to make more efficient and were simple for me to perform (or could have him do at extra cost). They showed up on time for the day of install and performed the install without much input from my wife (who would have to call me). Since I had to work the day of install but the wife was home I feared that I would have to correct something but to my relief it was done perfect! If I was to install the A/C system myself I do not see what I would have done different. You could tell they took pride in their work with the neatness they did the work and cleaned up the area so you couldn't tell anything was done! The outdoor unit is placed in a raised terrace gravel area and when they removed the old unit the took the time to regrade the gravel and place a new base level for the outdoor unit.
A few days later we received a thank-you card in the mail with a small gift and a promise of an outdoor unit cover which they said would take a few weeks to receive. The cover came as promised about 3 weeks later and is a perfect fit (like the rest of the job)
In short I would not hesitate to recommend J.C. Heating and Cooling for any of your HVAC Work since they are professional with the work they perform and even though they were not the cheapest (2nd in cost but also were supplying the system I wanted rather then what they use) there would not be anything I would want them to change in their process and I am happy to pay a bit more for the peace of mind they provide!

JC Heating first came over to service the old system that malfunctioned. Jerry came in and repaired the old unit and we recognized how professional and knowledgeable he was and that he took the time to explain why the system broke down. He did not use this as an opportunity to provide an unwelcomed opinion to purchase a new system.

A few months later we had an opportunity to make our house more energy efficient when we refinanced. We called JC and two other companies to provide us with a proposal for a new HVAC system. The president of JC, Jerry, stood head and shoulders above the other two groups. He put slip covers over his shoes, he was on-time, he explained the new system and the benefits it would provide and he made us aware of all rebates and discounts. Jerry was patient with us while we were refinancing and considering other offers. It was clear that JC Heating and Cooling was the right choice to perform the work.

On install day, the team was on-time and began to work right away while Jerry re-explained the work that would be performed that day. The crew (Derrick/Mark/Greg) was very pleasant and worked diligently throughout the day, and Jerry came back twice to check-in on everything. After the work was complete they cleaned up their work areas as-if no one had been there, and they explained the new humidifier, maintenance and thermostat.

A week after install we received a personalized thank you note and a gift as a token of apprciation for their business with follow-up to service the AC unit because it could not be tested in cold weather. Although the prices may be slightly higher than the larger corporate stores, we are relieved we chose JC. You can't put a price on peace of mind for quality of service and a company that does not take short cuts. I highly recommend JC Heating and Cooling.

The service date above was to repair a leaking duct that I found in my attic. Came over, replaced the broken piping, installed new piping, sealed it up and left. No more leaking supply duct.

They have always been very good with any maintenance and are very professional. I would highly recommend them.

The technician came out promptly the same day. He did get it started; however, the pilot light would not stay on. He replaced the thermocouple - however, the pilot light still would not stay on. He then determined that the gas burner valve was probably bad and amp; would need to be replaced. Since the estimated cost was about $600 to replace the valve, we determined that it was not worth it since since the furnace was so old. The technician took his time in diagnosing the problem and amp; was very knowlegable.
