Sharon utilized good subcontractors for the windows, floors, HVAC, electrical and roof. That's the positive. The negative: Sharon was totally disorganized, never on time and disappeared frequently. The biggest problem was her total inability to work within my budget. I tried time and again to get her to numbers crunch with me and it was impossible. The basement cost over double what it should have and is as yet unfinished (the final trim work and such). She never did a final walk through. She removed my coat closet with the promise that the money would be there for a new foyer with closet. All that was done was the foundation. I was originally to have a sunroom, which was downsized to a screened porch and deck. The budget for all else went so far over that it left no money for these projects. Worse, a full bath remodel was supposed to be started early on and all I ended up with was an unfinished closet and ripped out floor. She literally disappeared. I have a list of promises from her that I kept track of; mostly unfullfilled. This my first experience with home remodeling and I learned a lot. Sharon is very personable and I trusted her fully until well into the projects. Big mistake. The work that Sharon performed herself was shoddy at best. Curtain rods she installed fell down; grout leaked into the basement; curtains weren't properly sized and a kitchen back splash was unfinished in corners and such. Sadly, this was a total live and learn experience for me.
Description of Work: Sharon was the general contractor for a host of projects scheduled to be done on my home. Planned and completed: oversaw windows installation; oversaw floor installation; oversaw electrical and heating/air conditioning work and roofing work; installation of new stair bannister and misc. closet doors. Planned and mostly completed: finish basement into 4 separate rooms; spruce-up bathroom; spruce-up kitchen. Planned, started and left unfinished; full bath remodel, building of new foyer. Planned and never started sunroom or screened porch and new deck. My overall grade of B for quality of work was for most of what was done by her good subcontractors, which would have been an A, but several subs would get a D and Sharon herself a D also. The main carpenter did very good work, but never once in 8 months showed up on time and disappeared a lot.
