Absolutely perfect. The quality of work, knowledge and value that Joe and Lin Electric provide is simply impossible to get these days

Lin Electric was selected by our contractor on what seemed to be a fair quote price. Due to circumstances out of their control, the job was stoped following the first rough inspection. 
Unfortunately, when asked for the invoice there were many "extras" added that were inconsistent with the electrical drawings at time of the quote. Additionally, it was clear that he had overcharged many aspects of the project including pieces that his team had not yet begun (e.g., heated floors, GFI outlets, updating electrical circuits), as well as double-charging for materials used and permit fees. This amounted to an overcharge of approximately 50%!
We tried to work it out with him, and even offered to pay more than what was fair to settle the issue. However, Jozef, the owner, refused to sign a lein waiver, instead requiring payment first. He also required that I meet him in person to "do it his way." Both seemed an immediate red flag.
We are still working out the final details, and I will be sure to update this assessment once this is finally resolved.
As of this time, I would never recommend Lin Electric. Although the work was passable, his professionalism and billing procedures are highly suspect and fraudulent. This appears consistent with the other reviews here, and had I vetted Lin electric instead of the contractor, I'm sure we would have taken our business elsewhere.

Poor communication. Very hard to understand what this company owner Joe is speaking. He didn't expalin his company charges commute timing. I had several hours work and Joe said he had Tom come and work for an hour on Saturday for $55. I wanted to have things moving so agreed. He didn't explain they would charge for commute timing. Imagine I am in Buffalo Grove, not far. Some companies do if you live 30 miles away but they tell you upfront. Here I called Joe several times to get a guy come to my home and change couple of outlets in the kitchen. Tom from this company worked for an hour but charged 2.5 hours. I disputed the charges for commute mentioning this was no communicated. These guys are telling same story that everybody in the earth charges for commuting and forcing me to pay for 2.5 hours. I didn't want to deal this headache anymore so going to make payment. But my advise to fellow homeowners you need someone easy to communicate, schedule, work through without hidden charges. So be careful with this company. Absolutely I would not recommend this company.

Our overall experience could not have been better.  Lin Electric worked at our unit nearly every day for nearly three months.  They installed approximately 50 overhead cans, completely rewired the kitchen and bathrooms, and added telephone and network wiring.  We had been told that much of what we wanted to do couldn't be done because of the nature of our ceilings and the nature of our unit (part of which is 110 years old and part of which was added 12 years ago), but Lin Electric did it, and did an outstanding job.  Additionally, Joe (the owner) was very creative, in terms of determining what the appropriate types of lighting would be and the best locations to place the overhead cans.  While we ended up spending much more than we had originally planned, Joe was right on every count and the end result is first-rate.

Lin Electric was recommended to us by our neighbor who had previously used their services. Lin Electric solved our electrical problems and needs for additional lighting throughout the house. From our first phone conversation through the completion of the repair and installation work, they were prompt, professional, courteous and efficient. Even though the entire job took two days and required multiple trips, they managed to keep the work sites continuously cleaned up. They were also careful to accommodate our schedule when performing their work. When noisy saws had to be used to cut openings for the lights, they asked us for the best time to do it, to avoid disturbing our baby. Lin Electric provided excellent professional service with meticulous attention to detail. My wife and I are very happy with the services and their fine craftsmanship and are happy to recommend them without the slightest reservation.

Everything has gone very well. The price was good, and they do great quality work. I couldn't be happier with them, and I will continue to use them.

A friend recommended these guys to us. Usually, electricians come across as too complicated but these guys explained the job simply and held to their estimate. They finished in a couple of hours and the job was done well.
