GenX Generator

They have been very reliable, on time, and professional. I would recommend them.

GenX was great. They responded quickly and authorized replacing the damaged control board, even though Generac said that it should not be covered since having ants is like getting struck by lightening. I don't know how often folks get struck by lightening but in Chicago having ants is an annual occurrence around the house. Anyway Bryan took care of it. We had the unit installed a couple of years ago and the guys at Highland Park Electric did a great job at the install. I recommend both GenX and Highland Park Electric!

Great. Checked all systems including fuel lines, wiring and engine. Changed oil and filters.

Everything went well, we were very impressed with the entire process.  Their bid was extremely competitive, they did the work when scheduled, and the quality of their work was excellent.

It was expensive but well worth it. Where we live the power always goes out. It's nice to have it. The gentleman was very professional. They gave me a lot of information and we received a huge packet with everything from warranty information to how the generator was installed and the forms that we needed. It was very organized and well put together. It was a very good presentation. Other companies just handed us a flyer. They were wonderful and great in working with us. They worked with us in a way that we wanted. They said that they would figure out another solution. There was a small issue and they were able to get it resolved. The way they handled and took care of it. They come back and do the service calls and remind us that they need to come in and service the generator. They gave us discounts and options on how to purchase it and save money.

They took care of the problem. I've not had problems since then. I have been using them for the longest time. They are reliable, keep their appointments on time. They get the job done. They keep it up and running and that's how I want it.

AWESOME COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!  I chose GenX because my friend in Palatine highly recommended them and I felt very confident going with them.  Mike came out promptly for the estimate.  He was very knowledgeable and methodically went over every detail and patiently answered every question I had.  No pressure whatsoever.  He left me the proposal and a 24-page spiral-bound portfolio outlining every aspect of the job and equipment, including necessary paperwork to have Nicor upgrade my gas meter, optional items available, preventative maintenance programs offered, equipment specs, details of installation process, and warranty details.  You know how you always think of something to ask after they leave, well all the answers were at my fingertips for my convenience.  I was very impressed with the professional no-pressure presentation.  They took care of getting the permit so no worries with that.  On the day of installation, it was snowing and below zero with -35 windchills.  The three man crew arrived on time and worked tirelessly all day outside in the freezing weather.  The guys were great, extremely knowledgeable and very professional.  When the installation was complete, they went over all the details of the generator operation outside with my husband and I and answered any questions.  Bryan scheduled the final inspection with McHenry County and one of their electricians was present to meet with the inspector, and all went smoothly.  Also, on several occasions I had to call their office with questions and Kristi was always very helpful and knowledgeable.  About ten days after install, we had a power outage during the night and for the first time I felt very calm and secure, and didn't get nervous like before.  I only wish that we had gotten this years ago instead of spending the money on that big portable generator which involved going out in the garage (usually in the middle of the night) to fire it up.  Life is too short not to get a Generac from GenX, so treat yourself to one.  You will not be disappointed.  So a big thank you to everyone at GenX for all their hard work and efforts, which I greatly appreciate.  YOU'RE THE BEST!

Installation went great. The team was professional and very knowledgeable about electricity and generators. We will likely recommend them to others interested in installing a generator.

Mike came and gave us a free estimate for a 22 kW Generac stand-by generator.
GenX proposal was very competitive compared to other estimates we received and decided to proceed with them.
The whole process was very smooth from start to finish. GenX advised us on the need to upgrade the gas meeter to be able to handle the addition of the generator. Nicor was awesome in doing this in a very timely fashion as well.
GenX pulled the permit thru the village as well.
The installers were very polite and professional. Came between 8:00-8:30 on the day of install and completed the entire job by 4:00 PM, as scheduled.
We would highly recommend them.

The expertise of the estimator and the installation team was A level.  I had  received quotes and proposals from 2 other companies before retaining GenX.  The GenX  proposal was the best plan and the price was competitive.   The installation was smooth and  the team could not have been more professional and pleasant to deal with.  Great job all around!

- The person who came onsite for the quote was prompt, didn't try to upsell, and gave a much lower price than the competition, who I had out a few weeks prior.

- The people who came onsite to do the install were quick, did not leave a mess, amicable, and showed me all of the in's and out's and didn't mind my being curious and asking all sorts of questions about the process.

GenX was great from beginning to end.  Very helpful and "non-salesy" during the initial meeting.  After we decided to move forward with them, GenX help identify a couple locations for the generator, but ultimately, we had to get a variance from our town for the location.  GenX was great throughout that process with respect to filling out the application for the village and even showing up at our "hearing" to help get the location approved.
Installation was super smooth.  They we prompt, considerate and professional.  Class A all around.

OMG. The crew was great. Every single one if them knew exactly what there job was. They were so polite and careful with our house NO MESS AT ALL inside or outside. JUST GREAT. And very professional. Certainly not like some of the other companys that came out. These guys knew their job, and knew it well. I have medical needs and need power at all times. My wife and I now have no worries. A few days after it was installed. We had a power failure and sure enough our GEN X Generator kicked in in about ten seconds and we had power in the whole house. It was GREAT. The whole neighborhood was dark, and our house was all lite up. And the generator is quiet you can barely hear it. We are thrilled with the service and the price. Most of all the workmanship. VERY PROFESSONAL. Also once a week the generator automatically starts up so GEN X can test it. They installed a phone system that will automatically notify them if there is a problem. So no worries there either. No work on our part. We know they are monitoring it. AGAIN WE ARE VERY HAPPY and we thank the guys and gals at GEN X

They were pleasant, professional, prompt, and their price was fair.  This month they followed up with an upgraded part that their computer said was helpful.  Their responsible follow through is important in maintaining this necessary household addition.  I recommend them without reservation.

Install was easy and it has been working fine.

The installation process went smoothly. The only issue the crew had was that the plans had my gas meter incorrectly placed, so they were 50 feet short on pipe when they arrived. They were able to solve this issue and still get the whole project done in one day despite the rain. In order to get the permit with the city, I had to locate the generator in the back corner of my yard which meant they had to dig a trench across my whole back yard. I assumed that I would have to plant grass, but they were able to salvage everything and you could not even tell where they had dug.
