Acme Awning originally started in 1935 by Bill Thalin. Donald Arends, Sr worked for the company since 1948 and purchased the company from Bill in 1979. Alyce and Don, residents of Highland Park, made it their mission to keep the company located in the North Shore while continuing to provide a personal touch with each job. In 2006, their son, Kris Arends, the second generation took over the business and remains to maintain that same focus his parents did. Dedication, integrity, prompt services, and superior customer service are some of the qualities we excel in. We are a leading business in the awnings and canopies industry.
