Clock Repair
We have a desk clock that my mother-in-law received when she retired from Illinois Bell Telephone. Nice clock, hadn't worked for several years. Brought it in to A and Z. He fixed it on the spot, within five minutes. NO CHARGE. Unbelievably great service.

Watch Repair
My wife was looking to have a watch repaired and a couple watch batteries replaced. We decided to give this place a try after reading another review. Parking can be a little tight. As you walk in it doesn't look like a typical watch repair place. Simple, small, unassuming, and not really decorated. We got there right when it opened and it got busy really quick. Most customers I would say were European. He took care of us quickly and when he told us the price we were pleasantly surprised. We had to wonder if we were going to get "what we paid for" as the old saying goes but the owner, who I think does all the work there, made us happy with his service and price. Definitely a repeat visit for future watch repairs!

Watch Repair, Clock Repair + 1 more
I took my non-working wall clock to A to Z to ask if he could repair it. At first he declined because (a) he usually doesn't repair clocks, and (b) mine is an inexpensive clock, the repair cost of which could be prohibitive. (I wanted it repaired because it fits perfectly with the decor of my kitchen and I haven't found another that fits nearly as well, and thus I very much wanted it repaired.) After I explained, he somewhat reluctantly agreed to fix the clock and gave me a very reasonable price quote of $35. I decided to make a final check at a few more retail stores. After checking, I decided to have A to Z repair my clock rather than settle for a new clock that didn't fit well with my kitchen's design. The only criticism I could make about A to Z is that he didn't answer the repeated phone calls I made prior to visiting his shop. I was trying to reach him & ask if he repaired clocks along with watches and chronos (nor does his phone allow callers to leave a message). Because he had very favorable reviews on Angie's List and Yelp, I went to his shop, hoping he was there. He was, and explained that he hadn't answered phone calls because he'd been concentrating on repairing watches. So, a word to prospective customers: Don't assume that his shop isn't open if he doesn't answer phone calls -- instead, check his working hours, etc., on the internet and rely on that. I have every confidence in his honesty, fairness, and work quality.
