Royal camera gave me an estimate to repair my camera. They were kind and responsive. They explained the process and were willing to rush the repair so the camera would be ready for a special upcoming event. I opted not to get the camera repaired and to buy a new smaller camera.

Camera came back working perfectly and with a freshly cleaned image sensor. Well packed for return trip. Price was roughly 50% of Canon's fee for same repair, with same warranty.

They did a great job fixing the projector. They were delayed on the timeline getting the projector fixed, but that is because they had to go to Japan for some parts they needed. They easily could have said they couldn't fix the projector; instead they put out a tremendous amount of effort to contact parts dealers, I believe, in Japan to get the parts needed for an 18-year old projector. Also the price they charged me $450 was half what I had expected to pay, based on searches on the Internet regarding the problem with the projector and what others had to pay to have a similar problem fixed. I was delighted when I got it back up and in perfect working condition. It's almost four years later (I kind of procrastinated on this review, huh?), the projector is still working great with no issues.

Expected camera to work as new, but it is not as responsive. Did they use non-manufacturer parts? They sure contacted me to follow up to get my business, but once they got it have I heard from them? NOT! I'll look to someone else in the future.

Repair company delivered as promised. Personnel were responsive and professional. Would do business again.

I requested an online quote from Royal Camera Service for repair of a Canon 40D, USB connection and shutter release. I shipped my camera to Hanover Park and received a phone call on the second working day after they received it telling me it was complete. Talk about fast service. They also cleaned it up inside and out. They have gained a new customer. I am not a professional photographer but I am an avid amateur and use this particular camera for (and had it specially modified for) astrophotography. Please note: There is a company called and quot;Royal Cameraand quot; in Brooklyn - Do NOT confuse these two companies. The Brooklyn outfit has a long history of 'questionable' business practices.

I brought my camera into Royal Camera to be repaired. They called me the same day and told me what was wrong with it and how much it would cost. They told me it would take a few days to get the parts in and to repair the camera. They actually called me in two days and said the camera was ready to be picked up. Not only did they replace the shutter, but they cleaned the entire camera. It looks and works great now.

I appreciate the fact that they did not try to soak me for money when there was nothing wrong with it and it was simply a fluke of multiple bad tapes. I would recommend them to others based on their overall attitude and honesty! They had a large quantity of digital, film and video cameras in their shop for repair and I got the impression they do a lot of repair work.

The film compartment door on my camera would not close. The technician examined it and repaired it on the spot, and it continues to work fine. The staff is knowledgeable and professional, and always takes excellent care of our cameras. They also sell used cameras and accessories, and are a good source for items no longer sold (for older models of cameras and camcorders).
