It was easy to contact Modern Heating and set up a convenient appointment time. The friendly and helpful technicians came during the time we'd selected and checked my boiler and heating system. I have used Modern for several years for annual maintenance and service. This time I have a different situation; the old unit was failing and condensation from the AC line in the basement ceiling was a real issue. Thanks to Sherwin and his highly trained crew the leakage was stopped and we they developed a plan to make certain the problem never came up again; relocate the inside line away from the ceiling aaa and direct to the furnace 950ft away). Sherwin sat with us and went over all the options and costs. We decided to relocate the AC to a different location only 10 ft from the furnace and to get rid of the old excessively noisy unit. The installers, Kyle and brad did an excellent job, the cost we very fair and we could not be happier with the end results. Thanks Modern heating for you, as usual, great work!!!!

I reviewed Modern positively on 8/8/16 for a new A/C installation. I contacted Modern when the new unit wasn't maintaining temperature, and told them I'd be home at 1PM. The OWNER and a tech showed up at 1:01 and spent about an hour diagnosing the problem (a manufacturer's sensor unit was defective). After determining the problem, the tech stayed and worked on replacing the bad part. The unit is operating flawlessly. The owner called us a few days later to ask if he could stop by and do an inspection. I cannot say enough about this company's great service and responsiveness, and continue to recommend them without hesitation.

Lack of a/c is unacceptable this time of year. My old unit was 30 years old (came with the house). When the diagnosis on Thursday was DOA, sales coordinated with installation who showed up with a new unit at 8 Friday morning and I had a/c by 12:30. From first contact to completion took less than 36 hours. Every person I dealt with in this process was professional and a pleasure to work with. The installers took precautions to protect the interior (booties, tarps, etc) and cleaned the area before they left. I have been a customer of these folks for 10 years for maintenance and installation, and their techs are all first rate. I readily recommend Modern for anyone needing HVAC services. (The reason for the N/A rating on price is that I didn't do any comparisons so I simply don't know).

It seemed ironic to call Modern Heating to fix our old boiler pump in our old house (1910), but they are local to our area (Waukegan) and we figured they could get to our house quickly. We called shortly after they opened, and we had a call back within 10
minutes that the repair guy was on his way within 15 minutes. Ken came to our house and after we described what happened, he took a look and assessed that the wiring within the pump itself blew out and replacing the pump would fix the problem. He replaced the pump with a newer type that is a third of the size as the original, and does not need regular oiling (bonus!). He also ran new wiring to the pump since the original connection was too short.
The price was very fair. Ken did a good, neat job. He wore shoe booties in our house, and I saw him pick out bits of wire from the drain pan before he dumped the water into the sink. He was pleasant to chat with, and answered questions on maintaining our
boiler system. Very happy to have found a local company that helped us out quickly on a cold day.

They gave us a good price and they were highly rated by the neighbor, so that's why we chose them. They came promptly within the time window of when they were supposed to come. When we developed a problem with the thermostat surely after we had done a check with them, they came back and didn't even charge us for the call, so that was pretty impressive. They were pretty quick.

They swapped out the board for me, and it was fine. They were the people that installed the furnace in my home. I have been using them since I moved in. I actually purchased the house from the original owners in 2003. I had got their number from the previous owners, and I have been dealing with them ever since. I could find people that are cheaper, but I can trust them. If I have an emergency, they would be out within an hour. They are always here when they are supposed to be.
