I put a call in at 2pm to our utility and let them know the furnace was not working properly. They said they will put in a repair ticket and would call me back shortly to let me know who was coming out. An hour later (3PM) they called back saying the job has been assigned to Centsible Heating and AC and that I should expect a call from them to schedule a time to come out.
Eight hours later (10PM) I called my utility and asked if someone was coming out. She said they would call them and call me right back with a status. She called back within few minutes and said they only have one person on call and he has been doing service calls all day and would like to know if he can come out in the morning, "he's tired". I said that was ok, but they could have at lease called me to let me know that.
Next day, 9am the guy shows up, I let him in and he wasn't in the house 30 seconds before he insulted my energy robbing 45 year old unsafe furnace and tries to sell me a new one. I have the furnace checked every season, we have wired and battery backup smoke/carbon monixide detectors in all halls and bedrooms of the house. The house has new windows and is well insulated and I do not have high gas bills. In the end, the 45 year old blower motor was bad and was replaced. He did a great job and everything is working perfect again.
"We received this call at 9:49 pm not at 2 in the afternoon. They may have assigned it and not called us till later which often happened . We do only have 1 person on call at night and if they have done over 12 calls prior to that call coming in , we would hesitated to send him on more calls at this time of year. We apologize for the long period time you waited , but we would have definitely called you within 1 hours of receiving the call , had we received the call during working hours . When they called to ask us to take the call we would have told them we couldn't do it till the next day."
