Park Place Hand Carwash

Park Place had a change in management a few years ago, and they went from valuing customers to treating them like the enemy. They discontinued customer amenities, like free WiFi to keep customers occupied during their long waits (often an hour), corporate discounts and coupons. They also went to a sort of "say no" policy to anything a customer asks for. Here is one example...I spent $30 on a car wash with a rain guarantee. It snowed. I went back to use the guarantee within the official 48 hour window and could not because they closed early that day. I went back the next day and they closed early again. On the 3rd day, I was tied up in meetings and could not go back, but I went back the 4th day. The manager, who always seems to be fighting with customers or her employees, refused to honor their guarantee, which I could not use because they closed early on two different days. I will go without a car wash or drive further away if need be to not reward this terrible customer service with my business. This was not a one time, isolated case. I am grateful and glad that Angie's List provides consumers with a resource to prevent them from experiencing bad service like I did at Park Place Car Wash in Third Lake, IL., on Hwy. 45.

Friendly folks but odd set-up. Starts normally: You drive around to the vacuum area, order the services and then leave your car and go pay. Then it gets odd: Took a very long time to vacuum, then they leave the car, running, while it sits there waiting to go through the wash- I don't see any particular benefits to the hand versus machine wash: The car is left on the entire time through the wash, no joke, about 45 minutes, and then is parked to have the outside dried and inside windows done. They finally turn the car off and proceed to finish the two cars behind me first, then the car in front of me, then another car that was behind me!! They go from car to car, talking in Spanish the entire time. My guy cleaned the rt frt outside door glass 3 times while I sat watching him. It took an hour to do all this- Good thing I wasn't in a hurry... The inside had a coffee stain near the shifter that I got out myself and the passenger seat had crumbs on it... I will not go back.

Park Place is a very good car wash. While a machine pulls the car along the line, that is the only machine to touch the car. All washing is done by hand. The car was vacuumed and interior glass washed. After the car was washed it was also hand dried. They do a very good job there.

Very detailed. They vacuum, wipe down entire inside, clean inside and outside windows and dry the vehicle.

I've been a loyal customer of this car wash since it's opening, as it's very near my house. Over the last year +, the quality and timeliness of service has steadily declined. I don't know if Chet is stll the owner / manager, but since the time the new manager has taken over, this place has gone down hill. They are consistently under-staffed, and the staff they do have are slow and unprofessional. Even the inside of the store has gone down hill, is sparse like it's going out of business (I think it will anyway) and the cashiers are more worried about being on their cell phones than addressing customer needs. This latest visIt was the last straw. I arrived with three vehicles in front of me. It took ten minutes before the my car made it into the washer. It sat for another ten minutes before it left the washer, and yet another ten minutes before the hand dry and window cleaning began. In total, 35 minutes to wash a car (on a week night) is unacceptable. The staff moves at a snail's pace, there's more standing around and gabbing than work, and the manager does nothing about it. I'm not ususally a picky customer, and give people the benefit of the doubt, but it's reached the point I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!

I am a frequent of them. I am in and out and they do a pretty good job of cleaning the car including vacuuming the inside with the dog hair. Everybody there is very friendly. I will absolutely continue to use them.

They get high marks as far as I am concerned. They are efficient. I had a groupon for their services. The pricing is average.
