Dealing with poor quality workmanship and contractor-grade equipment and fixtures has cost us several hundred thousand dollars. We replaced rotted windows (they used Lincoln windows that were only 12 years old when we replaced them). We also replaced some of the Dryvit (which had been inspected yearly according to records we received) which cost about $10,000. According to the Dryvit repair company, moisture caught by the Dryvit is what rotted the windows. The insulation was not up to code. As a matter of fact, there was NO insulation in some of the slanted ceilings in our house. We had to pay to have the drywall ripped down and insulation installed. Our contractor took photos, and I contacted both Lake County (was told the inspector had retired - nothing they could do) and Fassbinder (they said they only keep records for 10 years, so couldn't answer any questions about my house). I'm getting used to seeing workman come in and shake their head at the poor quality of workmanship in our home. It has been quite a disappointment. I would not recommend Fassbinder Construction.
