It was a very good experience. They did everything that was required of them. I had a small water leak and they were able to fix it. They did everything they said they would do and I haven't had water in the house since their work.

Gutter is secured well, and no longer rattles on windy days.  Leak was not repaired and continued leaking with every heavy rain.  Sharper Homes was difficult to reach by phone, failing to return calls for a week or more.  Owner eventually returned to examine the leak, but said he was "dumbfounded" as to how to repair it.  We called another roofer (after joining Angie's List) who repaired the leak on his first visit for only $100.

It was good and there was no problem. I would recommend them.

Doug Gore, owner of Sharper Homes, had his crews take off my existing home's roof, and replace it. Likewise for my siding. The roof project went very smoothly - the crew was on the job early and got it done quickly, with plenty of workers to do it quickly and with minimal intrusion into our lives. 
The siding, project, however, was a bit bumpy in execution, but I'm happy with the job overall. They did quality work. It's just that this crew had a more casual attitude about everything - and in my opinion, should have been moving more quickly to beat the weather (that they could do the job in December in Illinois without rain, snow or artic temps was amazing). They were a small outfit - only three guys - and kind did their own thing. But Doug provided oversight and kept them on track.
Doug knows the insurance world well- and everything followed through with my homeowners insurance going along with the same smooth plan.
All in all, I had a very good experience with Sharper Homes. I was dreading this entire process, and it went quite well in retrospect.

Doug was professional and gave me a pretty good price. Once I signed the contract, he promised the roof would be done within the next 2 weeks (it was done within 1.) Doug was able to give me some suggestions when I needed help picking out the color. The actual roofing was all done in 1 day (I have a small ranch home), and there was no mess left behind. Other than a mixup over time I was to sign the contract, everything went smoothly and the roof looks great! I am very satisfied.

Doug Gore, Owner of Sharper Homes, was very quick to schedule appointment for an estimate. Doug is a very personable guy and it was easy working with him. He was prompt and explained in details what had happened and what needed to be done. His wife, Julia,was always pleasant and helpful when I called with any questions or concerns I may have had. Doug worked with my Insurance company professionally and delivered what was promised. Roofers showed up on date promised and carefully covered or moved anything that might get damaged. They installed the new roof and cleaned up/replaced my things. When they left, you couldn't tell there had even been workers here! I would highly recommend Sharper Homes and would use them again in the future!

Latest update - It has been a few years since the roof has been finished. We still have the one bedroom leaking after the last November snowfall. I went up the roof myself and found the top roof edge sloped up causing melting snow to not run off causing it to ice up, thus an ice dam. Run off water had nowhere to go except back under the shingles and down to the bedroom window. I removed the chunks of ice on the top edge of roof and the leaking window eventually stopped leaking. Sharper Homes came back out and confirmed ice and water shield was properly installed. They did find water under the shingles proving the water has not been running off, they applied a tar sealant to prevent this and told us to contact them again if it starts to leak again. They will come back out when the weather breaks and reroof the side where the windows leak if it reoccurs - we will keep you posted..

I had numerous estimates, the difference with Sharper Homes was the respect I received without the pressure. He explained the varies options and had the patience to wait until I was ready.
