"Don't want to be rude, but this homeowner is very misleading and downright wrong on so many levels. We are Christian people, but what we talked about was Boy Scouts not Church. We showed up for initial estimate and already knew homeowner was going to be a problem as he was cursing the last contractor to apply a roof. He was constantly in the way of all workers, asking question after question ON THE ROOF WITH US interfering with work, trying to tell us how to do work, and causing problems throughout job instead of watching from ground then inspecting work with foreman when job was completed. His wood complaint was the fact he had a 1" by deck and some of the nails were not in the middle of boards (we must nail in appropriate areas to properly secure shingles). The complaint on nails showing was caused by the homeowner lifting tabs and breaking corners off of the cap shingles then trying to blame us. He wanted his vents applied on top of shingles on the upslope (that's how he understood directions, which is 100% wrong). The gutter leaks were caused by homeowner twisting and pulling at downspouts, and also by his request that zip screws be placed in incorrect areas (again he didn't know anything about the job but insisted we follow his directions, then he comes here to complain). The neighbor with ladder he says we stole we were in fact told to get by homeowner only because we needed extra ladder after homeowner took one of our ladders to investigate and mess up other areas of job which my foreman tried to correct behind his back because he insisted on things being done wrong and we wanted job done correctly. Payments are 30% down (no more than 7 days prior to job start), 30% due at time of material delivery, remaining due at completion; only person to not hold his end of agreement was homeowner, once again. We have 100s and 100s of satisfied customers, homeowner has yet to be satisfied with any contractor doing any type of work on his house, will leave it at that! We made numerous attempts to satisfy homeowner, very sorry for the incidents he believes in his head we caused, but we had to face the fact he would never be happy. His roof does not leak (gutter does from his own doing) he has a 10 year workmanship warranty (on our work that he did not ruin with his pulling up tabs and twisting/pulling downspouts). WE HAVE 100'S AND 100'S OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS, HE HAS YET TO MEET A CONTRACTOR AND NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT AFTER WORK COMPLETED!"
