It took several  times  to finally get these guys to do our siding job. But  they did a very professional job. There  were several things damaged that they happily returned to repair. They also secured the gutters at their own incentive and cost.  I liked their their attention to detail.  

In all the years (18) I have been renovating homes in Chicago I have too rarely had a company exceed expectations. This group did that and then some. Great communication skills, kept me informed, spoke with me prior to, during and after each day of work. Simply great to work with.

1-Our house was built in 1929 and has had all of the problems of a house of this age.  Siding Group did a total tear-off of two layers of siding: aluminum from the 1970's, and the original cedar from 1929.  They then wrapped the house in James Hardie wrap, and then 1/4" thick insulation, then resided the entire house with James Hardie cement siding.  They also replaced a very large picture window with two crank-out panels.
2-This was quite a substantial project, and we felt the Siding Group did a 5 star job from start to finish.  We selected them because of their outstanding reviews on Angie's List, and their highest level of expertise rating from the James Hardie company.  When attempting a job on an old house such as ours, we wanted a company which had significant experience, positive reviews, and fair prices.  We were not disappointed.  Julie, was our sales person who doubled as project manager.  She provided photos, and gave us the benefit of her aesthetic experience and recommendations for window trim, crown moulding, drip caps, sills, and shutters, which turned out great! She was easily available by phone and spent much time coming over to help and look into issues which inevitably arose.  She was our contact person and A++!  
3-We were very particular about the outcome we expected right from the start; we wanted the fewest seams on the front face of the house as possible, wanted all seams to be straight, and wanted high quality, carefully executed  workmanship.  Our crew was headed by Roman, and his right-hand man was Nicholai--both were craftsmen of the highest caliber, and we recommend them without any hesitation.  Their attention to detail putting the siding up plumb, straight seams (few as possible), well executed replacement  f a very large window, exterior electrical outlets, mounts for exterior lights, window trim, freeze boards etc. was excellent. They are two of the most skilled workmen we have encountered in owning 3 houses over the past 32 years.
4-Lastly I have great regard and only positive things to say about Greg, the owner of Siding Group.  He is a soft spoken, gentleman who is well organized and conducts his business in a highly professional manner.  He made certain we were pleased with all the big things as well as all of the small things.  He took care of every issue or problem which came up, and made us feel that our satisfaction and happiness was paramount, a rare quality in this world. Everyone he sent to work on our home was polite, well mannered, punctual, thorough, and reliable.  Thank you Greg, and everyone from the Siding Group!!

We had a very positive experience working with The Siding Group. The initial meetings to go over the scope of the project and make design choices went smoothly and they worked quickly to get us an initial quote and then revise it accordingly. The workmanship on our new siding and porch is fantastic - it's as if we have a brand new house! The installers came early and worked through cold weather, snow flurries, etc. - very professional and the end product shows that. The project took nearly 12 weeks to complete and the end result is perfect! We would not hesitate to recommend The Siding Group to anyone looking to replace their old siding.

Workers were knowledgeable, hard working, punctual and fast. Did job on time. Helpful answering all questions. Cleaned up throroughly after job was done.

The work crew was amazing and worked through heat that I didn't want to go out into. They were very precise in their work and very responsive to my wishes checking in with me every step of the way. They mostly worked 6 days a week from 7:30 am until 4:30 or 5 pm. It was a tough job and lasted almost 4 weeks.

I think that even though management tried to communicate with me the best they could, their actual communications left a little to be desired, lapses in keeping us apprised of the progress where I thought they should have talked to us more. Also, we still have a few items, door canopies, on order from a separate vendor that Siding Group has agreed to return to install when I notify them that we have received the canopies. I would use them again on other projects knowing that I have to keep on top of the communications with management.

Excellent.  Bart was terrific to work with on the project.  Knowledgeable about the product and the job required.  Design was exactly what we wanted.  Crew was prompt and professional.  Job site was left clean each evening.  Excellent work and I highly recommend.

went beautifully from beginning to end. The salesman, Barotek, was knowledgeable and personable. no pressure, no last minute discounts to seal the deal today kind of tactics. timing of the actual job was a little wonky because of the winter weather. They would have started in February, but weather made that impossible. They scheduled us for March, told us when they would arrive and when they would finish. And they did it--they came on the day they said and finished when they promised to. Also, they cleaned up very well and did not create any mess for neighbors on either side.

I don't plan to reside our house for a long, long time (if ever), but if I do, I'll call Siding Group & Windows Group. 

The persons who came to the house to do the work did a phenomenal job. They actually continued to work through freezing temperature to meet our deadline that we had so that was really appreciating.  They did everything they said they would do in the time the time they said. It was a little bit difficult to get a hold of Greg in the beginning but overall the company did great work. They were reasonable priced.

Great. They removed the old window and the exterior and interior trim, added insulation and then put in the new window, replaced new trim and caulked all round. Done in a day and cleaned up well. I would most definitely use them again.

The work with the Windows and Siding Group went very well and my house looks fantastic.  Hubert (sales), Greg (owner), and Wesley (job site foreman) were very professional and helpful.  Initially, Hubert was very helpful explaining all the products and price point options.  I recieved estimates from two other companies and after I completed a thorough comparison of all the specificiations available from each company and from internet sites that rate windows and siding, I decided on the Siding Group. Hubert was helpful as I worked my way through the color selelctions.  Once the work was scheduled, they arrived promptly everyday, kept the worksite clean and safe, and were responsive to my needs and to the changes in trim color I requested.  They were also responsive to reworking a complicated gutter placement.  They were trustworthy and overall, I am thrilled with my new Alside Mezzo windows and siding.  I would definitely recommend the Siding Group to my neighbors and friends.

First a well deserved thank you especially to Wes our lead installer.  Thank you as well to Bart, our sales person, and to Hubert and Oliver for keeping a supervisory eye on the project.  And finally, thank you Greg for assembling such a professional team to assist me with this restoration.   The siding exceeded all of my expectations.  From our first meeting with Bart, I was impressed at how knowledgeable their personnel was.  From selecting the color, to choosing the plank exposure and texture, Bart was spot on with his recommendations.  For folks considering to replace or install new siding, you only have one choice. It most definitely is this company.  Their references are unimpeachable and number in the hundreds  around the Chicago area.  You do not have to take my word or theirs.  You can go, drive by, and evaluate the workmanship yourself.  I interviewed three Angie's List preferred companies and selected Windows and Siding Group, LTD specifically because of their extensive documented references as well as all of the homes that we were able to visit and see for ourselves.  My dad was in the trades.  He was a union carpenter specializing in trim carpentry mostly.  As such I grew up with an appreciation for quality craftsmanship.  This can have its repercussions however.  When I purchased my home, a Craftsman-Style home built in 1903, I set out to restore it to its former glory.  What I definitely did not want to do was renovate it.  Yes, restoration is different.  It respects the period architecture, and ensures timelessness.   Because of my dad's work, I am an extremely difficult customer to work with because I demand excellence.   Having said that, not once did I need to inject myself into the project other than for the occasional opinion as to what my preference might be.  All minor stuff.  The crew was always professional, courteous, and displayed a warm attitude.  Their competence was nothing short of impressive.  That is to say the least,  very refreshing,  as I have fired many a contractor half-way through a project.  Many companies unfortunately work hastily, cutting corners, and slapping siding on as quickly as possible to maximize profit.  Not these guys.  Not only did they take their time paying attention to details, they came to work early and left after sundown.  They worked tirelessly through  temperatures in the low twenties.  They cleaned up after themselves every day and worked around us always mindful of the homes inhabitants, including the dogs.  With respect to  the product, James HardiePlank Fiber Cement Siding, it is unmatched for its beauty and durability.  But that's only half the story.  You also need a quality installer to render the product worthy of its reputation.  My home has many odd angles and nooks typical of a Craftsman home built at the turn of the century.  If miters can be considered beautiful, theirs were breathtaking.  If you desire old world craftsmanship at a very affordable, and very competitive price point, you have to consider this company.  Their work should be featured in trade publications such as "This Old House" and similar industry journals.  Its that good.  Although, you guys were here only a few days, I will miss Wes pulling up in his red truck, smiling as always, greeting us with his European accented "Good Morning", eager to take on the days challenges.  Wes, Bart, Oliver, Hubert, and Greg:  Thank you.  My dad would have been proud of your work and he would have been honored to have known Wes.

We are very happy with the work that The Siding Group did on our house. The workmanship is top notch, professional, and beautifully done. We did research before starting this project and received 5 different quotes from Angie's List recommended contractors. The Siding Group was the most competitive in price and the most professional of all the siding companies from which we received quotes. Hubert from The Siding Group sat down with me, really listened to what I wanted to accomplish in my project, and made appropriate recommendations for our project. We are very, very pleased with the outcome and we have received numerous compliments from friends, family, and neighbors on how beautiful our house looks with our new siding.

There was a delay to complete the job, however I finally  managed to get in touch with the manager and once my concerns about the delay were addressed via Angie's list, the crew completed the job.  I am happy with the completed job, however due to misunderstanding between the work crew and management the completion was delayed.

The crew made sure to clean after themselves every day, and addressed all our concerns.

The work that they did was excellent. The only reason why I gave a B on price is because it is expensive. But you are paying for top notch skilled workers. We could not be happier with the outcome of our house. It has really changed the facade and hopefully we will see this winter that the insulation with the new siding helps. The workers showed up on time and cleaned daily - which is great because we have a little one who loves playing outside and I worried with the mess it would be dangerous, but the house was always left clean outside when they left. The work itself is perfect. We are extremely please and would recommend this company to anyone.

Incredible experience from start to finish with Hubert, Greg and the various crew members that were used along the way. Cost of the project came in as expected. Crew showed up every day on time and worked full days. They were incredibly respectful, and they didn't mess around. Finished a couple weeks ahead of schedule despite having to take days off due to bad weather. Incredible work ethic. Greg was always keeping in touch and answering questions along the way. Very patient team. I had already recommended them to a neighbor before they even did work on my house, and I've strongly recommended them to a co-worker as well.

It went very well.  The entire process, from the visit to discuss the project to the quotation to the work that the crew did to remove the original material and install new siding, was extremely smooth and well managed.  They know Hardie materials, and they do a very professional job with them.   I recommend these guys very highly!!!

I had purchased James Hardie Siding at a charity auction.  Siding Group was their service provider.  They came out and gave me an estimate for the installation.  I have a large 130 yr old victorian style home which was covered in vinyl siding at the time.  SIding Group removed the vinyl, installed a foam insulation and wrapped the house, and installed the Hardie board siding.  Their workers were meticulous in the detail work and kept the site clean day to day.  I would recommend them again.

They were very courteous. Always on time. I contacted them in November and they kept in touch with me through all of the bad weather we'd been having. They cleaned up everything after they finished work and even walked the site with me to get my approval on the finished job.
