Our 14-year old water heater was showing signs of age, and had to be turned up to get hot water. I contacted Schwerman Plumbing and Mike, the service manager answered the phone every time. Mike as to the point, but very nice and gave me a quote that was reasonable. I had emailed another highly rated Angie's List plumber, but they did not respond at all.
Mike was able to schedule me within 2 days and quoted a price. I called him again requesting that a drain pan be installed under the water heater, due to a recommendation from a previous home inspection. We exchanged calls confirming the size of the drain pan. On the day of installation, one service rep arrived on time, with his partner arriving within 30 minutes of the scheduled time. They hauled out our old water heater, and installed a brand new Bradford White model which is what we wanted. No muss, no fuss.
Mike also noted that to install a drain pan would create a tripping hazard as the drain pan piping would need to go across the floor where the furnace was located. He advised we not install the drain pan, saving us $40-50 on the installation and assured us that if we ever had an inspection issue in the future, we could refer any inspector to him.
All in all, it was a very clean job, no leaks and plenty of hot water. Even better, the price actually came in cheaper than what was quoted, because the installation took less time and was easier than originally anticipated. I appreciated the courteous and professional manner that my wife reported from Mike and another installer...and am thankful for this company's integrity to only bill the time they worked vs. holding to an original quote.
I would definitely work with them again. Thanks Schwerman Plumbing!

I appreciate a vendor who recognizes you know what you are talking about and what you want. I had the old units info ready and told him what I was looking for. I was able to answer his questions so he could quote me. He called me back in 5 minutes with a reasonable price and he could do it now (and I needed it now).
He shown on time, ready to work, no hype or up sell. Explained himself well, knew his stuff and efficiently had it installed.
Now understand.... this was a relative easy install. he swapped out a hot water heater that was the same make, capacity and size so there was no re-piping except for a few gas elbows. Nothing was rusted . He took the old unit away. Also, I was lucky he could move his schedule to fit mine.
So all the stars aligned and Schwerman proved to be a reliable, reasonably priced, no hype, competent Plumber.

Michael and Bill were great. On time and on budget. Knew the codes to make inspections a breeze.

When our 13 year old hot water heater started leaking, I called 3 local plumbing companies, all with good ratings on Angies List. Chose Schwerman for two reasons: because the person answering the phone and giving the quotes (Mike Dorsey, service manager) was knowledgeable and the quote was competitive. Neither of the other two places I called hit both those points. We also liked that they are family-owned and operated.
Our original intent was to replace our AO Smith hot water heater with the current version of same appliance, but Mike recommended installing a Bradford-White heater instead. Mike arrived at 9am the next day to complete the work. It was wet and snowy, and when I expressed concern about the carpeting, without hesitation, he offered to come back later in the day with a helper to carry the heater in rather than using the dolly. He also recommended replacing the anode rod with one that would be more appropriate for well water, which he offered to do at no charge.
Mike came back that afternoon with Bill, the owner, to switch out the heater. The installation took a couple hours and was completed without incident. Bottom line: knowledgeable, professional, pride of workmanship. And we are thrilled that the new Bradford-White heater is quieter than our old AO Smith heater!

Everything went well. The gentleman was friendly and professional, and he did a good job. We were going to use him for other plumbing work as well, however his prices were too high.

Several bids were received, and their was at or near the lowest. Like the communication with Bill and chose them. The work was pretty extensive (20+ feet of cast iron, which went through the foundation and into the yard. Replaced with PVC. Hot, humid weather and hard work. After three years, the work seems to have held up well.

It seems like they underbid this job a little because it was bid as a one day job and they were here for about 12 hours the first day and had to come back a second time to finish everything. There also was a miss understanding between myself and the plumber about having framing up for a wall that was supposed to already be up the first day they came. This was another reason they had to come back a second time (Probably my fault). The workmanship is pretty good so if you need something like this done you'll get a great price!

The plumber was quick, courteous, and professional. The repair did not really change how the toilets run however. Also, when my husband got home and heard how much they charged, he felt that it was very high. They not only charged for the work, they still charged a fee just to come out. They did the work they indicated that they would do. But, I felt they were expensive and, as I said, it didn't really do much to help the toilets.

We called Michael from Schwerman Plumbing out to remove the laundry tub he had installed for us in December because Perma-Seal is coming in to put in drain tiles and the tub had to come out (he is also coming back to replace it). At the same time, I asked him if he would replace my gas dryer line, fix the pipes for our disposal, and also fix the faucet. He was happy to comply, wrote up the estimate, went down and got everything he needed from the store and his truck, was back in a flash, and he got to work. The pipes under the sink were a mess (house is 35 years old) and gunk had really built up. He cleaned everything up, put in new pipes and the Y for the garbage disposal, fixed the faucet so it works like new. He went downstairs and removed the laundry tub and replaced the gas dryer line and just did it all so quickly and efficiently and professionally. I feel good about what I have done to my house when he leaves because I know it's been done right! Can't say enough good about Michael - he's a true professional who doesn't try to rip you off! I will be hiring him again and again whenever we need plumbing work done!

We called Bill at Schwerman Plumbing on a Wednesday night and explained to him that our water heater had burst and that we needed to get it replaced asap. He said that he would be out first thing Thursday morning. Sure enough at 8am Thursday morning Bill was at the door, he took the time to explain to me the different options that we had with changing out the water heater. We decided to upgrade our regular 40 gallon water heater with a on demand water heater, Bill had his guys here within two hours. While his guys were here working on the water heater they noticed that the main water shut-off valve was leaking so they went ahead and changed and didn't even charge me for it. We have had it in for over a month now and it works great.
