Chuck has a very nice presentation. He talks openly about his family and need for work, so we felt comfortable with him. He worked diligently the first week. Then, things changed quickly. He began a new full time job and said he would come over after work a few hours every weekday night to get the bathrooms done. The only time Chuck showed up in a six week period (after his other job) was to pick up a check. His workers do not have a good work ethic -I was actually told a worker was not going to work one day because he had to do his laundry...and another time that he wanted to go out on his boat since it was nice out. The workers arrive when they want to and leave when they want to. They do not call to say they are coming over or not coming over. We had a very large party planned over six weeks after he began this project. We were told, promised even, the projects would be done before the party. The day of the party, and today as I type, we still do not have the jobs completed. I would strongly discourage people from using him because he is unreliable. It is sad because we believed his story about needing to work to pay his mortgage payments and for his kids health care needs. I would not use him again. He does not stand by his word. When discussing the quality of work, the workers openly admitted that they had never tiled before and were not sure what they were doing. We have grout smeared all over our tiles because they always had to leave abruptly and never properly completed the job. The toilets were installed well, however. We have waited over a week without Chuck calling us to set a date to finish the work. We assume he is not returning....and he has our money!
Description of Work: We signed a contract with Chuck to repair two custom shower pans and then retile the showers. We also requested him to replace three older toilets.
