I had a new roof installed in 2004. This year, in 2017, my area was hit with a bad hail storm and many neighbors endured damage to their homes and roofs as a result. A contractor told me I had roof damage, but when the insurance company came out to inspect with the contractor, they determined that the damage was due to a manufacturer defect instead of hail, because the damage was apparent on the same corner of each damaged shingle. Therefore in October 2017, I pursued a claim with my roofer, Regal Roofing of Illinois, because my roof supposedly came with a 30 year warranty. After waiting 2 months for Regal / CertainTeed to reply, they informed me they would not help me; instead, they made the ruling that my warranty had expired due to a property transfer. In 2011, I put my home into a living trust for financial protection. They jumped on this loophole and decided that this caused a property transfer and voided my warranty, EVEN THOUGH I AM THE SAME PERSON WHO HAS LIVED IN THIS HOUSE 32 YEARS AND AM THE SAME PERSON WHO PURCHASED THE NEW ROOF IN 2004. It disgusts me that they would operate their business in this manner, looking for any loophole to get out of making good on a crap product they sell. DON'T EVER USE REGAL ROOFING OR CERTAINTEED SHINGLES!!

Repair work was done very well, the day the problem was looked at. Price was very reasonable.

Tony was very professional and went over all of our options. We really like the 3D look of our current shingle and Tony suggested the CertainTeed Landmark TL which really looks sharp on our roof. Tony has done several roofs in our neighborhood and all of them have a very professional look, Give Tony a call, I am sure you will want to do business with this company.

We were extremely impressed with Tony and his crew. The guys arrived at 7 AM and never left the job site until 6:30 or 7:00. The roofing part of the job was done in 2 days, with the gutters following in one day. They totally covered and protected my landscaping and cleaned up every bit of construction debris at the end of each day. It was an amazing process to witness. No wonder so many of our neighbors have used these guys.

Regal Roofing Service is a company that you don't want to use. He was so unprofessional that he was a scam artist. He told me that he was going to replace some boards up on my roof and he gave me an estimate of $300 and he ended up charging me $1000. He is terrible, the guy is terrible and then he threatened me. He threatened me. I had to call the police to get him to leave my property. The guy is terrible. He is a scam artist. Stay away from him. The quote was for like $5000 but I ended up paying $6000 because to go legally challenge his work I would have had to go to court and I just decided it wasn't worth fighting for 500 or 700 dollars. It wasn't worth it but it really pissed me off. He was higher but he said that he would match the price that I get from someone else and because he was so pushy and because he wanted to do it, I let him do it. Then he tried to make it up by scamming me. I would give him an 'F' for everything. I am going to go and talk to all of the surrounding village building inspectors and tell them what a scam artist the guy is. I will report him to the Better Business Bureau but I never want to talk to the guy again. If I thought that I could go to some small claims court and get it resolved, I would but I just don't see how that would work. If anyone could come over and count the number of boards that the guy replaced, he flat out lied. He flat out lied, he is a crook.

I went through 5 roofing guys for estimates & he (the owner) was the only one who sat down for over an hour with me & explained everything. He was available when I needed to get a hold of him. The workers came on time for the appointment.

They had some issues on another job which caused a delay in starting our job, but it wasn't a big concern for us. Tony estimated the average job requires Ten (10) 8 x 4 plywood boards. Now our roof was 25 years old and when they removed the old roofing Tony called me to tell us we needed many more, like 30. He did send me pix from his phone which showed the old delaminated boards.
He charged $54 per board (which includes removing the old and installing the new). Peterson's price was $40 each. When I spoke to him at day's end he told me 48 boards needed replacement. I was shocked of course as this added over $2,500 to the total. He did show me all the pictures of the old bad boards and all the new boards installed, and provided a receipt for the purchase of the plywood so I felt confident he wasn't ripping us off. He added Ridge Venting at no cost, a $350 value, which was a nice touch as he felt bad we had so much damage. I also saw the boards in the dumpster and the wood was terribly deteriorated. Peterson's price would have been $650 less on the boards, but Tony added a few things in the contract that Peterson would have charged for and added the Ridge Venting, so I think we came out even on that. The rest of the job was excellent, except after they installed the gutters and gutter venting and during the Village inspection, the Village disapproved the sign off, but Tony got the contractor out the next day to rectify the problem and the Village approved on the next inspection. Overall, I would use Regal and Tony again. He was very responsive and caring and did extra things at no cost even though it wasn't his incompetency that caused our problems.

He was very good and thorough. He was very miticulous. They did a nice job and checked up on the job after it was done. He was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a new roof.

Told me they could get the special shingles in 1 week but they stalled off doing the work for so long that it seemed as though they had the same 3 week delivery that the roofer I rejected claimed would occur. To me the roof looks funny but they claim that's because it was cold and the shingles need heat to flatten. They were hard to talk to before the job started, call and leave a message and wait up to 2 days for a call back. Was called regularly while job progressed. On the plus side, he was the only roofer to push for adding attic ventilation to assist in protecting against ice dams and it made so much sense I agreed. Looking at my roof with snow on it tells me I made the right decision. Also, he was the only roofer to offer me at no cost the Certainteed 4 star warranty which ties the manufacturer of the shingles to my roof for 12 years. I am less worried about the roof because of this warranty. I say I would rehire but that depends on how the roof looks next year.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT FROM THE ORIGINAL QUOTE TO THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK. THE EMPLOYEES WERE COURTEOUS, AND RESPECTFUL OF PROPERTY. THEY SWEPT UP VERY THOROUGHLY AND USED A MAGNET OVER THE WHOLE AREA AROUND GARAGE INCLUDING DRIVEWAY, GRASSY AREAS AND IN PLANT BEDS. WE RECEIVED QUOTES FROM FOUR COMPANIES AND THIS PRICE WAS IN THE MIDDLE. THIS COMPANY HAD THE BETTER REPUTATION AND WE FOUND NO COMPLAINTS WITH THE BBB.

THEY DID A VERY THOROUGH JOB OF INSPECTION AND KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
