Avoid Montoya - horrible service and follow-through. They were hired to trim trees bordering our property and our neighbor's...they did half of the agreed scope of work, left a couple of hours into the job and never returned. Numerous attempts to get them to finish the job have gone unanswered. Extremely unprofessional.

"Good afternoon, We apologize we have not been able to get this work taken care of. As you are aware there was a misunderstanding between you and Anthony the date of the estimate. On 07/22/2021 the crew was on your property and completed what was listed on the proposal. I talked to you on the phone that same day, and personally apologized for the misunderstanding. At that moment you did not want to get back on the schedule since it was about a 5-6 week wait to get back on the calendar. I did tell you I would try to get the crew back within the 2 weeks, if possible but nothing was guaranteed. Unfortunately, with the storm damages we've had, the crews have not had time to go back to your property. We have not, and will not send you a bill for the work already completed. We value each and every one of our customers, and sincerely apologize about the experience with our company. Jocelin Montoya"

Great, they came by quickly with a quote from a abortionist. We scheduled a date for removal once we got their price, they came out quickly and did a great job on taking down a large tree.

I had an enormous elm tree in my backyard - beautiful tree, but it developed a large cavity across the trunk and was susceptible to toppling in a big storm, which made me nervous every time there were strong winds. The tree service I used to use, a national chain, quoted a surprising high removal fee. As a result, I shopped around and even though another firm came in lower, decided to use Montoya, who quoted far less than the original company. This removal required a crane, access to the neighbor's yard, removal of part of the fence, and a large flatbed to hall away the branches/trunk. They scheduled removal within a week, showed up on time and went to work - it was amazing to see how professional and competent they were, flying by cables in the tree. Arrived around 8:30am and were done around 1/1:30pm - and cleaned up so well it was difficult to tell they'd even been there. Came back a couple of months later to grind the stump - again, they did a very professional job. Was extremely impressed with the great work they did and would highly recommend.

This is our second time using Montoya. The first time, they trimmed our very mature willow trees after a bad storm (cost $1100). Frank is clearly a very knowledgeable arborist and used to work for the village I believe. He and his team came out to inspect our trees and took great care to trim both the willow and maple. The maple was so overgrown that it was shading the plants and grass below it and not allowing any sun to come through. It looks significantly better and has increased our curb appeal. We had also planned to cut down our crabapple tree as it had appeared to be dying. Little did we know, it was actually suffering from a fungus and Frank's team was able to come out and apply several treatments to it. It was the first time we had seen that tree flower in two years! What a nice surprise.

He removed 3 trees. I think the price was kind of high. One of the trees was pretty large. I had them out here twice, he cut down a total of 7 trees for me. He did a good job, the only problem I had was he was he was not careful enough, a large part of the tree hit the ground to hard and broke my sprinkler. I think maybe they should check with people to be a little more detailed on if there are sprinklers and thing. If the tree trunk hits to hard it will shatter things under ground. They are very efficient, and are careful on making sure they don't hit the house or any other structures.

I am so impressed with them. It began with speaking to Kim, who was so helpful and courteous. Next Ralph came out for the estimate. He was GREAT! Very knowledgeable, and helpful. The guys came out took down the tree, and cleaned up. Perfection!

Overall the services were performed as promised. There was a week delay with removing the tree after it was cut down. After I notified Montoya of the delay they removed the chopped down tree a few days later.

After having several tree services come and give me a quote for the work I needed, Montoya Tree services came. A gentlemen named Ralph came explained in detail what needed to be done and the timeframe necessary. Their price was GREAT!!!! On the day of service they were on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the entire yard and left my property spotless. Two days later they returned and stumped the trees. The next day the large pieces of tree were removed. The greatest part of the experience was when I called and asked if several of the large pieces of The Ash tree could be cut into smaller pieces because several of my neighbors wanted to keep them and turn them into furniture. Not only did they do it, but the owner of the company showed up and cut them himself. His name was Javier Montoya. The entire experience was outstanding. This company will continue to get my business and all future referrals will also go to them.
