A pipe burst over our garage at about 5am on a Friday. GV's sent someone out promptly that morning. It was very cold, and our garage is not heated. The technician had to work on a ladder in order to replace the pipe, which was not an easy job. There turned out to be three separate leaks but the technician stayed until the job was done, which ended up being well past normal and quot;closing timeand quot;. Although I think GV's is pricier than other plumbing companies, their service is reliable, professional and friendly. I don't mind paying more for a job that I know will be done right.

We have an annual service contract with them for $150. When a fairly new furnace went out, I called them and the guy came in to look at it. The guy said that the return was wrong, that we're not supposed to have the return line to make the right angle turn, it should be curved. He convinced me to get an electronic air filter. After About a year, I decided that I didn't like it. I called them and complained and he said he'll put in the one I wanted. All he charged me was for the part, there was no labor cost. I thought that was very fair. They're very responsive. If I have a problem, they're right out here.

See above, but when I called a professional company to come and take a look at what was wrong with my unit, he said my unit was completely fine. He said these family owned businesses make their money on adding more refrigerant etc. Professionals dont need to do that because the repairmen aren't the ones benefitting from the $$ spent on the products.
I still have a hole in my ceiling waiting for the company's handyman to fix it. He was supposed to come by twice, and he has not shown up or retuned my call.

We've been with them for years. We used an Angie's List coupon for the last time we used them and they are wonderful. We've had some other companies that we've brought in because we were having construction projects done and the company had their own HD-AC person who sold us an air conditioner that ended up being a bad air conditioner and GV's has always been able t deal with all the issues at hand and tried to make the best of every situation. They also advised us in a way that we thought was honest and they gave us probably the most practical and cost- efficient way to deal with the situations that we came across, as opposed to what we experienced when we had this really high end, wonderful turn-key AC that was brought in and installed by somebody that didn't end up meeting our expectation.

I called GVs because we had concerns about caron monoxde leakage and I found info online listing them as a place with specialized equipment to test for levels of certain gases. I spoke to the office and scheduled an appointment for the following morning. The owner, Greg, called a bit later to ask me questions about if we were feeling any effects of co2 poisoning, and said he would come out right away if we were. We had shut off the furnace and aired things out son I said we could wait. The following morning his gauge detected dangerously high levels of Co2 coming from the furnace. He pinpointed the source and said the unit should be replaced. I mentioned that it should still be under warrantee. And even though he was not an official rep for the manufacturer, (and probably stood to make more money if i replaced the whole unit), he contacted the manufacturer and got them to agree to pay for the part and half of the labor. So instead of costing us just under $2,000 the replacement of the part and labor cost us just $400. The crazy part is that I had another company bid on the same job. Although this company WAS a rep for the manufacturer, their quote was for $1400 -- they said that this number actually reflected the replacement part and partial payment of labor covered under the warrantee. I told that company that there must be an oversight because GVs had quoted so much less, and the 2nd company told me we should go with GVs since they weren't willing to match that price.

I have to admit that at first I was a little skeptical of GVs. Greg showed up very professionally dressed -- he didn't look like the furnace repair man I was expecting. As it turns out, they are just extremely service oriented. I definitely recommend GVs. As for the other North Shore company that gave me an estimate (a company I had used about 8 years before and been pretty happy with), I wont be calling them again.

Another prompt, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable visit from a GV's technician.
The technician took care to keep the house and area clean, gave advice about air flow, flushed the condensation line, cleaned and gave follow-up information.
Thanks, GV.

I have relied on GV to take care of the heat for my building for over 10 years. A boiler that was installed by another company and that was only supposed to be sold on the east coast broke down several times each winter. After I fired that company, I called Greg in, and he managed to get us a number of year's service out of the bad boiler. A few years ago, his son Scott installed a new boiler and did an excellent job. GV is an excellent family business, and I strongly recommend the company to anyone with heating problems.

This is a family owned company that has been in business for decades. Dawn Vickers, who came out to quote the job, was courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodated our schedule. Chad and John, who did the installation, worked tirelessly and DEFINITELY went the extra mile to make sure we would be happy with the result. They saved me hassle and $$ by disassembling my old unit in order to get it out of the attic without cutting a larger scuttle hole in to the ceiling; recommended an updated system of returns to improve airflow and cut new returns and plumbed new ductwork at no extra charge. We can highly recommend GV's.

I know they charged a lot, their service is a bit more pricey than others but it is really good service. They are very polite. They are family owned and very friendly. I think professionally, they are even higher than other companies because they are family owned, at least that's how I encountered it.
