nI called 2 businesses from Angie's List.  Both were very professional and gave me a quote right away.  Both could come to the home to do the replacement.  I decided to go with the slightly cheaper one which was also the one closest to my home.  I paid a deposit on the phone, he sent me an invoice by email and the installer came the next day to put it in.  Unfortunately, it was the right size, but he didn't ask if my windshield had wires for melting snow.  I assumed all do.  The installer ordered the correct one and came in the much colder weather to install it.  There was no extra charge and the windshield cost the same.  He took the time to show me how my car looked before the change, so I wouldn't think he damaged something.  He was very professional.  He did a great job and my windshield looks great now!!!!  I am very happy!!!

NEVER USE THESE UNPROFESSIONAL LIARS. At the recommendation of our contractor who was replacing our master bath shower, we used the Glenview location of Glass Doctor to replace the glass. The contractor thought that the old glass could likely be reinstalled, but asked Glass Doctor to come out and measure to confirm and quote reinstallation services.Of course, when Glass Doctor measured, they informed us that they couldn't use the old glass and that we would need to order custom new glass from them, which we did. When the new glass was ready, they came out to install the new glass. Unfortunately, the new glass that they had measured and fabricated did not fit, but the installation crew informed us that we could likely reinstall the old glass.
I spoke with the manager of the store and explained the situation and we mutually agreed that we should only have to pay for just the labor of installing the old glass, which the manager said would be $300 - $350, and I asked them to proceed with installing the new glass. In the process of doing so, the installation crew cracked two glass tiles in the new shower, requiring them to stop the installation process so that we could have these tiles changed out by our contractor, delaying the completion of our shower by almost a week.
The second installation attempt went more smoothly, though the installation crew did create some hairline fractures in the glass tiles which we decided to live with in the interest of having our new shower finally completed. We were very surprised, however, when the charge to our credit card later that month reflected the full quoted price of $850.
My wife immediately called the store to discuss the situation and was told that they would get right back to us. After several days of not hearing from them, she called again and was told that they were investigating the matter and would get back with us. After two weeks of not hearing, she called and informed them that she wanted resolution by the end of the week or we would be declining the credit card charge and informing the world on Yelp and Angie's List of the poor experience and customer service, and she was promised that the owner would be calling her to discuss and that the situation woudl be remedied. Unfortunately, no such resolution occurred, and life got busy and I called back in early August to discuss and was referred to Brian, who I was told was the manager/owner of the Glenview location.
Brian informed me that he would have to investigate the matter "with dispactch" and get back to me. I waited 48 hours, and when I didn't hear from Brian, called again. A person answered the phone who sounded just like Brian's voice from the week before, however, when I asked for Brian, I was told that he was unavailable and the person took down my contact information for Brian to contact me again. After 48 more business hours (96 hours in total because it fell over a weekend) without hearing from Brian or anyone at Glass Doctor, I called back and got the same run around from the voice sounding just like Brian but claiming not to be Brian. When I told "not-Brian" that I wanted resolution on the matter "today" or I would be declining the credit card charge, "non-Brian" raised his voice and informed me that "they had lost so much money on that job and wouldn't be refunding me a dime." I informed him that I would be detailing this experience on Yelp and Angie's List, only to have Brian hang up on me.
Never use this lying, cheating shop of Glass Doctor! I have lodged a complaint with their Corporate office and will keep Angie's List posted on whether the Corporate parent will at least remedy this situation, but Brian's customer service dodging and lying aren't worthy of your business.

We had a window in our home break on a Saturday.  Glass Doctor was quick and responsive in providing emergency board up service that day.  Board-up guy told us that he would not be damaging the window frame, and even if anything happened, Glass Doctor would be responsible for any repairs that were not part of the initial damage -- those that happened as a result of the board up.  Mike Compell showed up on Monday, measured the window and gave me an appointment time for two weeks later.  They missed the appointment.  After calling a couple times, they told me they were backed up, and set a time for two weeks after that.  The day before they were to arrive, they rescheduled for the next week.  Finally, five weeks after the event, they replaced the window.  But the board up had indeed caused gouging, scratches and paint scrapes in the exact position where the 2x4 boards had been pressure-mounted in the frame.  Installer told me that Mike would call the next day to arrange a follow up and would repair that damage.  He did not call.

A week later I called him.  He set an appointment for the following week.  I stayed home from work, and he missed the appointment.  Called him again.  He said he would come out the next week, that I would be his first appointment of the day.  He called in the morning, said he would need to make me the last appointment in the day.  He missed that, with no notice.  I called him again.  He set an appointment for two weeks from then with one of his crews.  I spoke to someone who was dispatching the crews that morning, and he ensured that they were bringing white paint and other materials to make the repair.  No-show again.  Called that night, and the same guy said he had no idea why no one showed,  would look into it and call me back.  No call for a few days.

So, I called Glass Doctor one more time.  I left a message with the answering service telling them that I would like to speak with Mike directly, and explained details from the paragraph above.  I'm really frustrated, I said calmly, and I think that only a direct conversation with Mike will do now, please have him call me back at his earliest convenience.  A full week later, after 5pm on a Friday, I get this email from Mike:

"Again we do not paint after wdw repairs.  Please stop calling the shop they will not send anyone out. Your paper work states this.  Filling of holes is a painting function.  Also please stop yelling at the answering service. Mike Glassdoctor"

Even if this is the case, why did I have to go through the dance for 3 months to get to this non-resolution?

The fellow came out the next day to give an estimate and came back with another worker just a few days later to install the new glass. They worked efficiently and pleasantly, did a fine job and I'd hire them again.
