This was a huge job including design, demolition and rebuilding, working around and with the roofers, making the fancy spindles (which saved us quite a bit of money over ordering them from a mill) and "putting the porch together," which included adding a lot of new detail to the porch itself, to the front steps and to the bay window. The proportions of the detail to the porch and the porch to the house are perfect. As one admiring neighbor put it when we told him how carefully we'd planned the porch -- "Well, you nailed it!" Another friend took a bike ride over to see the porch and said, "This doesn't improve just your house. It changes the entire block!" In short, very beautifully designed and very well constructed. We are the lucky recipients of a gifted craftsman's careful work. And not just worth every penny; we think we got a bargain! Michael/Creative Solutions, Inc. is the perfect choice for those who want to take the time to do it right.
