Jon agreed to come to our house for the inspection and estimate on a Friday night with less than one day's notice. He prepared a very detailed estimate spelling out exactly what work was to be done. The crew was able to come out within a week and complete the job in a half-day. The work crew sealed off the upstairs opening to the attic and was very careful to keep the unaffected areas of the house clean. After they completed the work, they left 2 air purifiers running for 4 days (twice as long as was promised). It is difficult to say precisely what the workers did as they were scraping, vacuuming, and cleaning because the area was sealed off and we couldn't watch or see. However, the work stated on the estimate matched up with what I researched on the EPA website.

Steven came out for initial inspection and gave me detailed quote where everything was itemized. He was very responsive and professional. On day work was started, I was very concerned about the worker's qualifications because they looked like very young kids and the supervisor was difficult to understand. Steven came over and went over what was to be done that day and assured me that supervisor was qualified. However as the work continued that day, I was unhappy about the containment procedures. Although they tried very hard not to make a mess, I was concerned about the mold spores. They also used biocide but didn't sound right since mold is not bacteria, it is a fungi. Only ammonia chloride kills mold according to another mold inspector. After the demo, they set up an air filter in the bathroom and let it run for a couple of days. After Steven came back I told him my concerns and did not want them to finish the work. He agreed to just charge me for half of what was quoted.

WE HAD TO CANCEL THE FIRST APPOINTMENT, THEY HAD TO CANCEL THE SECOND (BECAUSE A JOB RAN LONG) BUT WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WHEN WE GOT THEM IN THE DOOR. OUR HOUSE TOOK QUITE A WHILE - 4 1/2 HOURS WITH A VERY LOUD MACHINE IN THE FRONT YARD (SO BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR NEIGHBORS!) BUT THE RESULTS WERE AMAZING. WE WERE CONCERNED THAT OUR OLD HOUSE MIGHT HAVE FUNGUS / MOLD / COOTIES BEING SPREAD IN THE AIR THROUGH DIRTY DUCTS. THEY HAD US LOOK INTO A VENT BEFORE THEY TOUCHED IT, AND THEN AGAIN AFTERWARDS - YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT GETS CAUGHT IN THERE.
