WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I will NEVER go back. I would not recommend this place to anyone that loves their dog. If I could give negative stars I would!! I am knew to Glen Ellyn, my family just moved here from Sugar Grove, IL. I have a 6 year old female rottweiler (apparently it is illegal or against the laws of Glen Ellyn to own a rottweiler.) She is trained, always on a lease outside my house and very sweet. The first vet (male) that walked into the room gave me a look of horror when he saw here and moved into the farthest corner with a fear in his eyes. My dog was LAYING DOWN ON THE GROUND next to where I was sitting and did not move, nor make a sound. Nothing she did or actually did NOT do indicated that she was aggressive. He then said in the most awkward way, "Um, what can I do for you today?" while still standing in the corner of the room. He didn't move to try to even get to know my dog, which by the way was still laying down, still not moving or making a noise. I ask him if he was scared of my dog and he did not answer. I asked him if he was going to come closer or stand in the corner the entire time. I told him that I have NEVER been to a Animal Hospital or Grooming Facility where the VET was scared to enter a room with a dog. He then, with panic still in his eyes, said I will go get my manager, leaving the room as fast as he could. WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED??? I know that rottweilers have a bad reputation, but they are not all bad. Any breed of a dog can be aggressive or attack. My dog is far from either of those things. AGAIN, SHE DIDN'T EVEN MOVE!! The manager came in and I explained what just occurred and she said that he was a "FILL IN VET" and that she would send someone else in. I totally hesitated and said to her I can go somewhere else if this place is scared of or does not want to have rottweilers as patients. She told me no that is not the case and that another Dr would come in. Which did occur but that Dr was also extremely timid around my dog, which again HAD NOT MOVED FROM THE DOWN POSITION. She had a TECH go outside and take a urine sample, came back in and talked to me briefly. The VET took my credit card so that I would not have to go to the front desk on my way out to pay, because apparently my dog is not welcome there and might hurt someone. And then sent in another TECH to give me my receipt for $150.00, my card and prescription. NEVER coming back in or explaining how often to give the meds or when (I guess they are printed on the bottle....) WORST EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. Apparently if I don't have a golden-doodle, lab, or a dog that fits inside my purse I do not belong at the Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISCRIMINATING, SELECTIVE, UNFRIENDLY place that is suppose to take care of ALL BREEDS OF DOGS. They need to state on the front page of their website a list of breeds that they do not wish to treat!!!

It was $50 per dog.?What keeps me going back is the fact they got ?A?s? for everything. It takes not more than 5 minutes to get taken back to the vet. The vet techs, veterinarian & receptionist are excellent. I pretty much exclusively use them.

You don't necessarily need an appointment and they have limited Sunday hours. The vets are very responsive and caring.

We are new to town and needed a new vet. The need was expedited by a couple of masses that developed on both sides of our border collie near her front shoulders. GEAH was able to see her on the same day. The check in and registration process was friendly and quick, and the doctor joined us in the exam room right after we entered. Dr. Bauer was very friendly and thorough in her examination. She put our mind at ease right away regarding the masses (fat; not surprising with our border collie!), and was helpful in providing additional tips on how to manage an 11 year old dog that's overweight and has two artificial hips. She was also happy to answer the questions that I had, and didn't seem to be rushing us despite the fact that our first visit was FREE!
In all, I couldn't have been happier with our first visit to GEAH, and will continue to use them as long as I have pets. Some Vets (and most MDs) don't realize (or care) that bedside manner is extremely important because of the personal relationship we have with our pets. This is clearly not the case here. Conceding it was a limited interaction, I was very pleased with the staff and the experience.

It went great. The are wonderful with the dogs, knowledgeable and empathic. We brought in our hound dog to have a tumor checked the she has, and we had to bring along our little Maltipoo because he does not like to be left alone in the house without his hound dog sis! Anyway, Mopsy our Maltipoo was looking around like isn't anyone going to check me out! So the vet gave him a pretend and quot;once overand quot; to appease the little guy. He was all smiles!!!! And our Hound dog Mavis was grinning ear to ear at how nice everyone was to her.

My daughter's 11 month old, 6 pound puppy required emergency surgery. It was touch and go for several days. The veterinarians and techs were wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. One of the clerks at the desk, whom we always manage to get, must hate her job. She is unprofessional and almost downright rude. We paid for the down payment of the surgery by check which was at least $1,000. When my daughter went to pick up her puppy (you can imagine how excited she was) I gave her a check for the balance and the girl told her (not nicely) that they don't take checks over $800 (not 100% certain of the amount but the amount she said was less than the amount I paid for the down payment by check). She told my daughter she could not release the puppy without full payment and they were closing in less than 1 hour. My daughter was reduced to tears as she had no other form of payment with her. I spoke to the girl at the desk asking why we were not told of the final payment type prior to then and why she accepted my check for more than $800 dollars for the down payment. She said she did not know why we were not told that (offered no apology) and said she could take a credit card payment over the phone. I gave her my debit card number (same account as the check) and then she released the puppy. When you are in a service oriented business the manner in which you speak to people is extremely important. If this girl does not like or know how to deal with the public, perhaps she is in the wrong line of work

*During one visit, one of the receptionists yelled at my 2 year old across the room for tapping on the fish tank in the reception area. It's understandable that they don't want kids to tap on the tank. A nice please stop doing that would have been acceptable, but yelling at my 2 year old and making him cry was extreemely unprofessional.
*I felt like the vet assistant was running the price up on me and tried to make me feel inhumane for not wanting to pay $100+ for optional features, e.g. sending the growth removed for analysis. They definitely employ high pressure sales tactics.....they appear to view people who are emotionally attached to their pets and going through a traumatic event (e.g., a growth, injury) as dollar signs and try to upsell them for unnecessary items/services.
*I am in the market for a dog now and will probably have to return to Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital for checkups, just because it is so close to my home.
*My advice to anyone forced to use this vet (like I am, due to proximity). Is to be prepared for rude receptionists and for them to try to run the prices up on you. Again, once you get to the actual vet, things should go fine, albeit pricey.
*Of course, they may have fired the receptionist and vet assistant that gave this poor service by now.

Everything was fine!

We like all of the doctors, they are very informative and explain things to you .We feel that they don't try to over do anything, their prices are fair and when we make a appointment there is never a long wait.

We just got our little puppy about 2 months ago, so we haven't had too much experience with this Vet. and their service.  So far, we've been pleased.  We hope things work out in the future.

I've always been satisfied with their service.

They were easy to work with and they answered all my questions. The staff was very nice. There was no problem at all with the waiting time to get in. There was no problem in taking my pet there.

We go to them routinely and have all our animals checked out there. They are awesome and take care of pets really well. We found their services to be excellent and cost effective. I will use them again in the future.

The services as always were great. My dog is being treated for his allergies and I really felt like the vet listened to my concerns about given him too many medicines.

Just a side note - We have been going to this vet office for at least 5 years now. We were tired of our other vet scheduling too many clients and waiting for a least 30 minutes for a 5 minute visit. We have 6 pets (dogs and cats), and there is always one of our pets who either needs a checkup, medical tests, or emergency that needs attention. The staff there is always pleasant, the cost is reasonable, and best of all appointments are not necessary, which is great with 6 pets. I can't count how many times we have called and half an hour later we are there, and it's not a problem for them - very accomidating. They are always caring and compassionate with the pets. They even sponsor puppies and kittens for adoption.

Everything went very well. My pet recovered from surgery just fine. I like them and they are close to my home.

Excellent. I arrived 25 minutes early and they took me in around 5 minutes later. Waiting and Exam rooms are clean and bright. Services are priced very well. I really like the on-line access to the puppy's records. Dr. Carl Schmidt took a great deal of time examining my new puppy. Asked a lot of questions. Even thought it's 15 miles from my house I'll be using them for my puppy.

Very well. I got an appointment promptly, they did a great job and the price is fair. She did a good job of informing me of options/ upgrades to the regular haircut. She treated my dog well and the place is clean. My dog was done when they said he would be

We dropped by for a tour of their boarding facilities. The main waiting area and reception (for the vet's office) seemed very clean and friendly. The boarding area was a little scary at first; it is in the basement and is a little dank. But we also had never been to a kennel - we now understand that this is actually a pretty nice place - fairly large kennels, clean, possibilities for personalized services. We especially liked that, for a fee, the staff would walk our dog in the park. We ended up going with another provider -- someone closer to our home, with more personal interactions with the dogs. But we would consider using Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital in the future, if the other place was unavailable. They have reasonable prices, and I like that the vet is on-site.

They are great! A one stop shop.

I don t have anything to compare to their pricing, but I felt that it was very reasonable. The real advantage there, is that you can get your pet in when needed. They are pretty accommodating, and they also have a groomer on the premises, which we like too. We would highly recommend them.
