A BEAUTIFUL ROOM

I had to terminate Scott Miller, "A Beautiful Room," from the job. Never in my life have I dealt with such an arrogant, unprofessional service provider. We waited three weeks for him to start the job. He met with us on the Saturday before the job to pick out colors. On Monday he began the job. First day(Monday): Painted ceilings but not all that were discussed originally. When we told him that we originally requested the family room and upstairs hallway to be painted he told us we were wrong. I let it slide. Second day(Tuesday): He painted the wrong color in the master bedroom. I told him I would talk to my wife and see if we could let that one slide also. I spoke to her and she wanted the original color that she picked out. She told me that she had already purchased curtains that would go with that color. I contacted him told him that she wanted the original color that she had picked out. He attempted to change my mind by telling me that it would be a horrible color in that room. I explained to him that this was what she wanted and he then proceeded to berate me. He tried to tell me that my wife and I better get out acts together. He told me that "he had both paint colors written down for that room and this it was our faults." When I attempted to ask him why he did not call us to clarify the color he hung the phone up on me. We trusted him so much that we gave him a personal credit card to purchase the materials with. We currently live in Naperville and I had to rush back at 9 PM to our new home in Geneva to change the garage code after the exchange I had with him. I didn't know what he was going to do! Third day(Wednesday): He proceeded to go to the job site in the morning. Entered the home because another contracter was there installing hardwood and started working as if nothing had happened the previous evening. THe other contractor contacted me and informed me that he was in the house. I contacted him and asked him why he hung the phone up on me and he told me that he was done listening to me "rant." I told him if I would have treated someone at my job the way he treated me that I would have been terminated. I also told him that his services were no longer needed and to pack up his stuff and leave the premises. I also informed him that I had contacted our attorney about this matter and he told me that he had been to court several times and that he was not worried about it. Again he hung up on me again. I drove over to the home and he was outside "talking" to my neighbors... After he made sure that I saw him talking to my neighbors he got in his work truck and left....Childish??..??... Scott is the kind of guy that acts very nice to obtain the business but after he earns the job his true colors come out. He thinks he's a real ""hotshot" throwing around all the work he's done in the community. Hate to break it to you Scott but I went around and spoke to some of those people that you've done work for and there's a reason you haven't been invited back to do more work! I would absolutely not recommend this painter to anyone. I am still in shock by the way I was treated.
