I can't understand the previous reviewer, because these guys were brilliant. They kept me informed as to when the job would be done and they came on time. The two crews who did the work were cheerful, polite and professional and did a fantastic job. I cannot speak too highly of this company and their staff. If you need a good roof job, then you can't do better than American Val-You. I most highly recommend them.

Awful. I am out over $5000.00 and got nothing but excuses and he never did put new roof on. He was very nice and down to earth and was a great talker and that's why we choose him for a fair price and eagerness to do a great job. I hired him in May explaining it was a hail damage claim and I wanted my roof done in July or August when it was good and hot so shingles would seal good. I told him I would never put roof on in fall or winter and he said no problem that would work our good that my turn should be in July maybe August depending on weather . Well I never herd back so in June started to call him to make sure he had correct shingle color and to see about when he'd be doing the roof. His wife always answered phone and said she would tell him and have him call me back that day....but he never called back I would have to call again and his wife would apologize say been so busy I will have him call you right away....take several more days to get a call. Next week no call, This kept going on with avoiding calls and excuses and I think he knew I was losing patience so on 7-28-2017 he said he needed the money to do my roof that this is how it's done in the business. I was skeptical and leery but I really wanted to get my roof done before fall hit so I paid half down. The never returning phone calls and excuses kept coming and he'd say your shingle should be in next week and I'll call you to tell you when I'm coming. I'd call back two weeks later to see when coming,he would say, oh shingles not in yet should be here any day, I'll call you when they come in. I was really getting tired of his putting me off and not keeping his word so finally on 7-28-2017 I left him a message telling him August was about over and I was very disappointed and not happy and no longer trusted his word that I felt I was being strung along. He called me back and was very rude and unprofessional and said he didn't like me and was not going to do my roof and would send me back a check for my money I already paid. I told him I really needed my shingles so I could hire someone else to do the roof and wanted my shingles I paid for. He told me that the over $5000.00 I paid would not even pay for the 39 square of shingles. After we hung up I looked up the price of 39 squares at Menards at what I cold buy them for,and they were way less than what I'd paid John Stipp already. He was an out and out liar. I called him back and told him I wanted a cashiers check and he said he had already had his wife send the check and it was in the mail. That was another lie as he said they mailed my check on 7-28-2017 and today is 9-11 -2017 and I have still not received my money back and I guess I will have to take legal action to get my money back. So unfair and unprofessional that I never got my roof done after waiting all summer and now he won't even give me back my money. I would never recommend him.
