K Kilker Construction & Roofing

Very prompt and courteous. Job was done in timely manner and clean up was the best I've seen on a roofing job. No issues since roof was done. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a roof. Above and beyond what I expected.

Do NOT use this roofer! Kilker replaced my roof 8.5 years ago. It leaks, and now my entire roof needs to be replaced again and all the decking underneath. I have left several messages, and Kilker won’t even return my calls. I have given him several chances!

My experience with them was fine. They have a good reputation. Everything was fine and I had no problems.

Only took 1 day was surpised.

Kilker Roofing gave us a quick estimate and information to help us choose a shingle color. When we told them the color we thought would most closely match the existing shingles, they told us they would suggest we look at a house with that color and one with a color they thought we'd be happier with that they had previously roofed. When we did as they suggested, we realized that the color we had chosen didn't look at all as we'd pictured it. We went with their suggestion, which turned out to be a perfect match.
On the day the work was supposed to start, there were 30-mile per hour winds. In spite of that, they stripped the old shingles from and re-roofed the one-story garage and shed. Mr. Kilker, who was on site for almost all of the job, told me it was unsafe for them to roof the 2-story house (which I was relieved to hear they weren't going to attempt). They returned the next day and completed the house roof.
Because of the type of equipment they use, the stripping was quick and without mess. We found a grand total of 1 roofing nail in one of the flower beds after the job was completed. They were careful of all of the plantings around the house, which was a concern to us. We couldn't be happier with how the roof looks, and we haven't had any problems in the 9 months since the job was completed.
I rated the price as Good rather than Excellent only because I'd prefer it were free and because we didn't get any other estimates to compare. We had a ballpark idea of how much it might cost from talking with people in the area who'd had their own roofs done by various companies, and when Kilker's estimate fell within that range but came with the 50-year warranty we were satisfied.

A year later the roof started to leak and I could not get him to come back and take care of it. He would always make excuses, which went on for about 4 years. Everytime I would call, I would get his wife who was very rude. She would cop an attitude and argue with me. Finally I had another contractor come out and look at the roof. We still are not able to find out why the roof leaks. The new contractor will most likely have to remove one whole side of the roof since we cannot figure out why it leaks.

Update: It has been 5 years and he still refuses to acknowledge that the roof leaks. I will have to have someone come out this summer to fix it.
