They answered the call promptly, and after I explained what had happened, said they would send someone out to repair it within 3 hours. the repair person showed up promptly, took one look at the door, said he couldn't repair it, and told me the service call estimate was$29.95. I said that it doesn't seem right, I explained that I told the dispatcher what the problem was and I didn't feel a service charge was appropriate. He called dispatch, sent picture and quoted $800-$900 for the repair and someone else would need to do the repair. We said we would think it over. Our normal contractor provided a name of someone who could help us, who came over, got a quick fix done so we could get the door closed and will work out a much smaller cost than this quote.

Called to schedule emergency service. Indicated that would send someone within 2 hours. 90 minutes later, received a call indicating that a different technician needed to be called, and that he would be there within 2 hours. All in all it was close to 4 hours later (9:30 PM) that someone showed up. While he did ultimately get the door to close, he was really more interested in selling me a new door. Multiple times I had to ask if he could just get the door down for the time being, and that we could then discuss the next steps. After the door was down he gave me a quick quote on a new door and a new motor. The next day I received a call from the company asking about a replacement door. I indicated that I was taking bids for that project, along with having the garage sided (currently wood). I was informed that this was something they also did and that an estimator would contact me. I did not hear from them again. The bottom line is that they performed the service that I really needed to have done, which was to get the garage door closed. The problem is that I did not need a heavy-handed sales pitch after waiting nearly twice as long as the original estimated time of arrival. I am exceedingly grateful to them for the service that was provided, and would recommend them in an emergency situation such as mine. Just be aware that they may pressure you to get more services done right away, or even before the work you really wanted completed was done.

The repairman called the night before to confirm Saturday but asked if he could come now if I was home. Sure, why not? He arrived and after a brief 5 min inspection informed me in broken English that there was a problem with the gear but he had a plastic part he could replace. Est $165. He said he would guarantee the work and if it broke again, to call him and he'd take $100 off the repair. I was skeptical but he then offered a lesser fix for $145. There was no part replacement with this option. He kept assuring me I didn't need a new opener. He used a couple screw drivers and a power tool (with bits) and finished his adjustments in about 10 mins. The door was functioning normally at that time. He asked if I had cash: no. He processed my card for $150 using an app called Square but he left no paperwork or summary of what he did. He did leave a very generic business card with no name on it. Their service was inconsistent with all the other providers I have found on The List. I made the mistake of not taking the time to see there is only one single review that resulted in their A grade. I would not recommend this company unless no one else is available. Moral of the story: sometimes the first company to respond is not the best hire for the job.
