Just as we are trying to sell our home, we discovered that one of the windows in our master bedroom had a cracked track on its left side. I think the side tracks are called a ?window jambs,? and the top and bottom window sashes slide up and down along its grooves.
I then learned that the company that manufactured the tracks had gone out of business ? very recently.
That is when we referred to Angie?s List, and found Blaine Windows at 1644 N. Manheim Road in Stone Park, IL. I called and
spoke with a wonderful girl named Monica who promised to research what to do about our problem. All I she suggested I do was to measure the broken tracks, take photos of them and of the clutches that slide along their slots, and email all of it to her. I did just that.
A few days later, Monica called with good news. She had found a company that makes a replacement for the tracks that we have. She ordered a set for us, without requiring us to give her a credit card, and then notified us when the tracks were ready for pickup.
I installed the tracks myself, and it was really an easy job. They fit beautifully, they work smoothly and snugly, they match the color of all the other window tracks in our home. They are fabulous! What a relief! We thought we would have to have the entire window replaced ? or perhaps all of the windows in the house replaced (in order to have them all match).
We are so pleased with Blaine Windows, and so grateful that they have such a sweet, professional, conscientious and knowledgeable employee as Monica.
And, once again, we are so pleased with ourselves for having joined Angie?s List (for 5 years.) We know that, as the
dialogue in the Humphrey Bogart movie, Casa Blanca, went, ? ?This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.? We will be using Angie's list for EVERYTHING we need in the way of service.
