We contacted Hamstra to get an estimate for a new roof.  Mr. Hamstra came out, inspected the roof, and gave us a written
estimate.  The estimate was very competitive.  We accepted it.  The work was started on time.  The workman were courteous.
  The work was done in a professional manner and was completed on time, including debris removal.

When the snow started to melt  a couple days after a heavy snow, I had water leaking from my living room ceiling in three spots.  I searched Angie's List to find a goodcompany to come figure out what was wrong and fix it.  Hamstra showed up as relatively close to me and with great reviews.  They were able to send someone the next morning.  The person who came was very professional, spent quite a bit of time clearing away the ice and snow over the area where the ceiling was leaking so he could check the roof.  Determined that my roof was in good shape.  The problem was an ice dam, which he took care of , including chipping out a section of the ice that had built up along the gutter so that the melting from remaining snow could run off instead of leaking in.   An additional reason for my very favorable impression - when I called, the person I talked to asked questions about where the water was coming in, etc., and the age of my roof.  When I said it was 8 years old, his response was that I sure shouldn't need a new roof.  So, even though it seemed likely that this would be a small job, they were willing to come take care of it.  And, the outcome was that my roof didn't need repair work, which I view as a good indicator of a company that's honest.  If I ever need roof work, I would definitely contact them.

I wish I had something to tell you other than today is August 27, 2014 and I still haven't heard from them. At this point, we are working with other companies.

We had a leak in our roof and I called a couple of roofing companies to try and find the problem.
They came out and got up on the roof to take a look. They thought that it could be the flashing around our tube skylight, so they took the shingles off to check the flashing. They thought that it could be flashed better, so they took care of it. They were here when they said that they would be and listened to my problem, went on the roof and handled their business!
Well, we found out that the leak didn't go away, so I called them back to have another look and Tim (I believe that was his name, but it's been awhile since they were here and my memory isn't what it used to be...Sorry Hamstra).
Tim came here on his way home from work (a HUGE Thanks for that), and went up in our attic to have a look around and found that the pvc plumbing vent stack hadn't been glued properly and separated, thus creating condensation (Please remember that this is in the attic) and creating the leak. He didn't charge me anything either!
I was VERY impressed (and believe me, that's not easy to do) and Extremely Appreciative!
I can't thank Hamstra (and especially Tim/?) for their Professionalism and for just being a stand up company! When we need a roof, or actually anything to do with a roof, they'll be the first place that I call.

They come out when called, are super efficient and friendly and willing to do simple repairs. We will definitely use them when we need to replace the entire roof.

Hamstra quoted quickly, and squeezed the job in between snowfalls. They completed the job in one day and cleaned up after.

This immediately resolved any issues with the ice dams. We had initially focused only on the areas that were leaking, but because it went so quickly, he was able to remove all ice without any impact.

The repair went very well. Jim showed up, went on the roof and determined the leak problem .
A cracked plumbing boot. He did not have a lead one, on the truck. So he went back to the shop and got one.
Promptly returned and installed it. Since I was busy, doing yard work. He offered to just send me a
bill. I thought that was very nice.

The work was done seamlessly, with little effort on our part. Like having fairies come in a take away all the bad stuff. Great service.

Due to a storm, some shingles had blown off the roof. I had contacted Hamstra Enterprises in the morning while I was at work and spoke with a very friendly and helpful woman. I had explained my situation and also inquired if whoever came out, if they could also check the condition of the roof. She said that would be no problem, and I would be contacted. I received a call from Tim early that afternoon and he advised, that it was small area and could be done right then and that the roof was in great condition. Needless to say I was very happy about that, and Tim was professional and friendly. I really appreciate this company and if I ever need work to be done in this area, I will definitely call them again!

company responded quickly to my initial phone call even though it was a small job. worker arrived on-time and did the work quickly.

We called them because we were concerned that we might need a new roof. He came out and assured us that all we needed were some shingles to be nailed down that were loose. They are very honest and pleasant. Will probably use them when we do need a new roof if the price is right.
